Wanna try a fun experiment? Watch a courtroom show like The Peoples Court with the sound off. Without the confusion of auditory cues and hearing the explanations, the emotions etc etc etc... and relying only on visual cues, it's almost unsettling how fast you identify one as being the liar by body language alone. It just feels obvious very quickly. It's a weird experience.

So many police say the same thing. People who are really innocent freak out and worry that they are going to go to jail for a crime they didn't commit. Those who are guilty are more relaxed and calm. They know they got caught and now they are just trying to explain how they are not really innocent or they are coming up with a lie to get themselves out of it.

I don't know if Donny is guilty or not, but he is certainly acting like someone who is.

If the accusations were really, honestly false what sane person wouldn't be angry with the people that made them against them?

Personally, I think he is maintaining his facade of the good christian who believes the truth will set him free. That way if he does beat the charges he can still be that guy who God guided through the lion's den and he can still cash in. I have a feeling if he is convicted and sent to jail we might see a whole different version of him surface.

Shocking new allegations in the Donny Pauling child molestation case

In progress. Even more disturbing allegations were revealed today in the child molestation case involving anti-porn crusader Donny Pauling, and Lewis McElfresh Jr., a Sutter County Sheriff?s Captain.

Sutter County?s jail commander has been accused of masturbating while watching a young female relative have intercourse with anti-porn activist Donny Pauling, reports Monica Vaughan at theAppeal-Democrat

Thursday, the Sutter County District Attorney charged Lewis McElfresh Jr. with five felonies: two counts of felony child molestation, willful child cruelty, burglary and misdemeanor charges of annoying or molesting a minor and indecent exposure.

Pauling was arrested Dec. 1, then transferred to Colusa County Jail on Dec. 6 after investigators learned there was a second alleged victim, who was related to a sheriff?s employee.

When the Appeal-Democrat on Dec. 9 asked McElfresh, then still in command of the [Sutter County] jail, why Pauling was transferred, McElfresh said he didn?t know.

?(The) victim said she and suspect would have sex and he would use the sexual intercourse as a way to bribe the victim for the things she wanted or needed.?

The document also says, ?(Pauling) told her he was not like other child molesters because he actually loved her.?

Donny's biggest problem is he cannot afford an attorney and the public defender is "less than motivated". He'll sink himself.

On top of it, it seems they have two people arrested on similar charges - the sheriff and Donny. They will play them against each other.

This will end badly for Donny.

It's all part of God's plan. There's currently a vacancy in the Preaching to Mermaids department (17 toilets, split evenly male/female) and Donny is being fast-tracked to fill it.

Id say from a practical standpoint, if he's facing these charges and has a public defender, he's going to prison with 100% certainty. Interestingly, his loving supporters from the church(s) aren't interested in raising money for legal fees. I'd guess that those who know him best, have some doubts as to his innocence.

Not too long ago I watched this documentary called Gideon's Army. It is about public defenders in Georgia. Obviously, that is a different state, but I think the idea is the same. The public defenders in this movie all were handling somewhere in the area of 130-150 cases at a time. They basically only have the time and energy to focus on a few cases where they really believe the person is innocent. Otherwise they essentially just try to get you some kind of plea deal.

I would not be shocked if the public defender sees Donny's past and decides his is not the kind of case they are willing to put a lot of effort into.

He had a bail hearing last week, trying to have his bail reduced, but that was canceled due to issues with his public defender. According to Donny this is all part of "God's plan"....

So I guess he is hoping for some bail reduction (which I still doubt himself or his mother would be able to meet), and then we wait for his trail.

More charges against Pauling expected

Additional alleged victims have been identified in the criminal investigation of anti-pornography activist Donny Pauling Jr., according to statements made in court.

Pauling, 41, appeared in Sutter County Superior Court on Wednesday with a new private attorney, Roberto Marquez.

During the hearing, Deputy District Attorney Anu Chopra said she would be filing new charges.

Pauling is currently charged for crimes against a single victim ? felony unlawful sex, lewd acts with a child under 14, and oral copulation with a child under 14 ? for an alleged ongoing sexual relationship with a teen girl. He was arrested Dec. 1.

He has pleaded not guilty.

On Dec. 16, Sutter sheriff's Capt. Lewis McElfresh was arrested on charges stemming from allegations he watched Pauling have sex with another girl, a minor.

Pauling has not yet been charged for those allegations relating to a second alleged victim.

Chopra said there are additional victims.

Pauling is scheduled to appear in court on Friday, when Marquez will argue to have bail reduced from $500,000.

Judge Susan E. Green scheduled the hearing and said Pauling's bail may be lowered, remain the same, or it may increase depending on what new information is presented.

Pauling remains in custody at the Colusa County Jail. He was moved from the Sutter County Jail after the allegations were made that he had sex with a sheriff's employee's relative, a minor.
