There was definitely a barrier to sales last night (for me at least), perhaps they keep the chargeback ratio as low as possible before Christmas then take down the scrub for serious sales over the Christmas period :2 cents:

I think the last post I remember from you was that you were back to making $14k/month after putting in 6 months of hard work. Are you still doing well or suffering like most affiliates these days? |

wow you've got a great memory :-) Well I am still doing adult but obviously its not as lucrative as it was years ago. Lots more competition for eyeballs and search engine positioning. My income is steadily declining in adult but then so is the time I'm spending promoting adult. Becoming a dad twice in 1 year can certainly be distracting too :thumbsup I still have adult sponsors that sell like cockwork but i dont want to go the way of BlockBuster and continue to rely 100% on promoting things that people can get for free or cheap elsewhere. I've since been concentrating more on mainstream projects. It finally hit me that I've built up quite an array of skills and experience/expertise and I'm being silly spending 100% of my time promoting adult - when you think of it, adult is a niche product! The mainstream market is wider and deeper than adult and there really are a ton of mainstream opportunities that I would be silly not to take advantage of. Now that everyone and their grandmother has the internet in their hands - all the time - the opportunities are boundless. It requires the same energy and focus as adult but with a bigger market available to you. It also takes time to build up a mainstream income just like it does in adult but its a more reliable income and makes more sense/cents than relying 100% on an industry that gets no respect the way adult does. P.S. I find it interesting that google now refuses to take xxx adwords (I was making good profit on those!) but they still show a shitload of torrent results for xxx movie titles. fucking google :321GFY P.P.S. I still love promoting adult and seeing beautiful women naked! Always have, always will :-) |

i cant compare my sales with the last dec.2013..they dropped down
|
Better than last month.
|
Usually December it's our best month, but not this year :( , even in august sells was better.
I think the reason is that many affiliate lost there traffic in the last Google update. |
50 sales!
|
Oh and sofar December revenue is a tad bit slower than October but up compared to last year. Sales are higher though compared to last month.
I have faith the 2nd week it will pick up and become our best month since early 2012. Fingers crossed ;) |
Red sales in the sunset....

Just to give people an idea of the potential that is in mainstream right now:
I needed it to hit me like a ton of bricks before my eyes were opened... This is from a popular mainstream affiliate discussion board (this thread has 22,000+ views): http://pornhero.com/mainstream.jpg |

and from this guy writes about himself he is some kind of CyberRobot...So I guess that for "normal" affiliates these figures would be 5 times smaller....which is still GREAT |

- alot of trial and error - developing various skills that maximize your results (programming knowledge, database driven sites, ability to learn new things) - knowing your tools (google analytics, adsense, wordpress, etc) I agree this guy obviously isn't the norm but the point is, you need to be in the mainstream game! if you have ZERO mainstream projects right now and your serious about making a $XX,XXX monthly income then you are doing something wrong. The serious & reliable income growth $$$ for years to come is in mainstream not adult. :2 cents: I remember seeing the word "mainstream" here on gfy and my eyes would glaze over and I'd think "next" in my head... that doesn't happen anymore... |
Quote:
So when someone comes on here praising how amazing 'mainstream' is MY eyes glaze over because I know that that person doing all the cooing isn't sharing exactly WHAT THE FUCK 'mainstream' they are doing. They just go 'Yay mainstream!!" So, that's an issue. LOL |
So PornHero what mainstream product brings you the most money?

Adult can mean paysites, cams, dating, ppc, sextoys... you can promote via galleries, blogs, fansites, pornstar directories, seo pages... hardcore, softcore, erotica, nonnude... u can choose pps or go with revenue share or sell your traffic... The whole point is the size of the 'mainstream' market is huge. And mainstream doesnt have the stigma that adult does so your "market risk" is minimized. Adult is always under attack and gets no respect. The size of the "adult" market is but a drop in the bucket when compared to the size of the mainstream market. Which means, smart online marketers such as ourselves :) should be able to cut a nice slice of that mainstream $$$ pie for ourselves... Put it this way, if you can do well in adult then you can do well in mainstream. Nobody is going to tell you exactly what their mainstream moneymakers are just like I'm not going to tell you which of my sites and sponsors I do best with ....but just know the moneymakers are out there -- its up to you to find them. Just like in adult 10 years ago. |

Fortunately I know how to program and love building database-driven sites so my forte is building databases/sites that help people find what they are looking for and suggesting similar products... I guess just like what made me all that money in adult - but applied to mainstream... Im presently building stand-alone sites using the software I built and applying it to various niches... I just populate it with a shitload of popular products then move on to the next site... rinse and repeat... because they have databases on the backend it's easy to update with new items and reuse items across various sites... for example, Im hitting the coffee pod craze (ie Keurig, Nespresso) next then Im gonna build a megasite listing the latest video games for the major consoles with links to the reviews from major gaming sites for each video game... Im eyeing fitbit next... Im a BlackBerry phone lover (I have a Q5, Q10, Z10, Z30 and Passport) so Im gonna build a site to help people choose a BlackBerry just for the shits and giggles to see what kind of income I make from it... gonna push amazon on that because ordering from that ShopBlackBerry site sucks -- Amazon is the way to go when you want a new BlackBerry... trade traffic between mysites just like in adult... make them all look different so people dont even know they are still on my network -- just like in adult :) one thing I found is that is just as easy to promote and target $400 products/category as it is to promote a $50 product but you get paid alot more on the $400 one :winkwink: here's another hint: aliexpress is in its infancy in North America right now. 99% of the US and Canada adult population have never been to the site. But they will :) |

There is a lot to learn and as soon as you feel yourself getting a step up there is something else to learn. The learning process also takes time which can be difficult because you imagine all the sites/pages/blogs you could be churning out in the process. |
