Something like - whew, this guy has a limp handshake, must be some weirdo or weak character, i am not sure I am interested in knowing him better. |

It so strange that even hard to believe it happens (except between colleagues-friends etc). |

Look, it is as simple as that - if you are strong character and confident guy you would never limp shake even if you "learned it" when you was a kid or something. I mean you would obviously understand that this is not how a man shakes his hand... |

If we meet in a loud club at a show where we can barely hear each other it's not a "business" setting. But the truth is I do shake hands when meeting someone. But after I've met you, best believe i'll probably fist bump you. If that makes me unprofessional then so be it. At least I won't go home from a show sneezing & coughing, lol And those that want to make $$$ will still contact me. Those that will give up $$$ cause of a fist bump probably didn't have much business anyways..... I'm sort of trolling here though. Of course I do shake hands after closing a biz deal. And of course I shake hands when meeting someone new in a biz environment. But after we've met and we're just saying hi or by in passing at shows I'll fist bump. |

I did not say I would refuse a deal because of that. I said that I would think "what is this joker doing". And then your business deal would prove me wrong afterwards, but my first impression would be bad, I would be less likely to initiate business talks with said person. I understand it when you do it with business partners you know very well, when your partnership has some degree of "friendship". Loud nightclub is another story, it is kind of "after party" and not an actual business setting, so it is not that bad. |

Also it has to do with the age of who I'm speaking with. Of course with someone older I show respect with handshakes. But anyone younger than me I'm more likely to fist bump. |

I can't stand the guys that close their hand too quick and grab my fingers. Happens a lot too.
I also constantly get tripped up with the upwards hand bro-hug shake... Never properly anticipate that shit and always make it awkward. |
Has anyone ever had to deal with someone who tries to make a pissing match out of a handshake by not letting go at the appropriate moment. I wanted to use my free hand to smash his face, but my left sucks.
|
After last year no handshakes, that flu was dreadful.
But to answer your question, yes a limp handshake (especially a sweaty limpy) is usually a good indicator of a persons manliness... and other traits. |

I do the namaste bow with my hands together. Nobody ever shakes me hand when I do that. Shaking hands is the dumbest thing ever. The last thing I want to do is touch your fucking gross hand. Besides, I often pick my nose and ass so why would you want to shake mine?

Mine's limp as it's tired from counting stacks of adult income :winkwink:

+1 Looking someone in the eye with a smile or a serious face (depending on the situation) and a firm handshake has always been my approach with men. With women, I almost always kiss them on the cheek. |

Alternatively, nothing annoys me more than the guy who thinks "firm handshake" means "crush bones." The perfect handshake is something like this; palms touch, grip feels intentional and enthusiastic, two pumps, and done.
But actually I like the idea of fist bumps better all around. We should just make that the official international greeting. Enough with the face-kisses, handshakes, and head nods. |
I am switching to a new form of greeting, starting at Internext.
Germ-proof, manly, effective. http://cdn.gifbay.com/2013/11/mrbean...ueen-98093.gif |

The idea is to show that you don't have any weapon in your hand, not to break someone's hand. What I should mean with hand shaking?
PS. I shake hands "normally" AKA not trying to challenge the other into some Alpha male contest. |

i learned to give a firm handshake and look the other person in the eyes |
For those who don't have a significant grip, or can't compete with someone who wants to crush your hand when shaking.
When grabbing their hand, extended your pointer finger at them, like you are pointing. They'll squeeze their little hearts off trying to make you squirm, while you smile at their Pseudo Alpha shit not working. |
Well I'm a touchy feely kinda guy... chances are likely I'm going to give you a bro hug if you are a dude I get along with and respect, and a quick peck on the cheek if you are a female friend. Both if you are a really close male friend of mine.

Practice makes perfect:
The only handshake that matters... |
Hate limp handshakes but on the other side. The CEO of ibill shook my hand firmly , looked me straight in the eye and told me Son you are with a winner and then fucked me up the ass for 13k lol. So there is no set rule.
|
I won't shake someones hand in these circumstances (always happens at a show)
Buffet line. Walking out of a restroom, and no "don't worry it's just water" does not make it okay drippy. :2 cents: |

This guy has a pronounced handshake and will look you in the eyes and smile when you greet.

I agree. Personally, i'm a firm hand shake type of guy, but I don't judge on others hand shake styles. Like I said before; Some of the wealthiest people, CEOs, people that are in charge of authorizing my wires, have had some of the softest hand shakes. I would be an idiot to judge these people on their hand shake alone. That has been my experiences with hand shakes. No judgment from me. :thumbsup Just Dave |
