Good deal - sold ;)

How do you get to 8+ million? Turned down 7 million because it just wasn't enough? If it's parked and making enough to be worth more than 7 million clams, you are selling because...?

i guess there would be no reason to inflate the sale price if it wasn't real ;)

I love that the domains are going for real money again.

adultchatpay 02-03-2015 05:30 PM

He doesn't need the money. Same model I use in terms of ROI I just don't sell million dollar names. Best I've done is 6 figures. Common for me to turn $8 names into 1-10k though on a regular basis, if only I had gotten in a few years earlier.

He's owned it since 97, parking income has taken a slide since then so guessing income not as strong as the old days.

I used to get annoyed when posters used porno in the title and description. But then the market for moderately brown people clicking on things opened up and it was alright.

I certainly understand taking the money and running or putting cash from sale elsewhere. I just don't always believe every press release someone sends out to make a splash since reporters no longer verify truth to them. Having said that, I hope that it's all true, and it most likely is, and I never hate on success. I don't know what I don't know and my skepticism doesn't change facts.

I remain skeptical that 345.com sold for $800k. They announce the private sale price, but rarely do they name the buyer.

Shap 02-05-2015 03:53 AM

So who is this guy buying up these domains at crazy prices?

ITraffic 02-05-2015 03:55 AM

no money in porn tubes.

That's chump change for Xvideos.com. They could have paid double without blinking an eye.

x12media 02-09-2015 03:44 PM

On the topic of 3 letter domains, what is the best place to list them for sale (and I know the GFY buy/sale)

I had actually emailed with Rick a while back on a couple of my domains (but he couldnt get them into his auction) so just curious.

The bottom line is that an average person usually would sell out for a price much lower. Ironically its only because DK doesn't need the money that he would fetch such a high price. There are many multi-million sales for 3 digit dot com which won't even get report because 99% of them will be private sales.

NOTE: The latest reports are that 360.com has sold for $17 million USD. I believe the buyer is Chinese (corporate) in the form of Qihoo. Seller was an entity that didn't need the cash (Vodafone). I emphasise that the sale is not confirmed but here's the scoop:

Amazing Week! We Saw the Biggest Sale in 5 Years, Another That May Turn Out to Be Highest Ever Reported + Five More That Hit 6 Figures!
