My brother is one. Us siblings started calling him out on his shit once we got tired of it. His response was to cut the entire family out of his life. It's been close to a decade since he's responded to anyones attempt to contact him.

I remember his last lie being that he said he won his new car at the mall (those cars sitting in the courtyards that you can enter to win), when in reality he bought it. He had also bought a new guitar that he said was part of the prize. Not a big deal in and of itself, but it becomes burdensome when everything is a grand story and you are no longer able to separate fact from fiction.

He was also involved in all of these big businesses and deals despite no actual evidence of such. Coincidence? Who knows.

It must. Even in Silicon Valley the average hourly wage for php developer is $60/hr.

As a freelancer figure 50% utilization rate, tack on 40% for taxes, insurance, etc. and at most you should be charging $160. Very few actually get that.

Nobody is so magical with code to be worth almost twice the next guy. It's php for christ's sake. No shortage of programmers knowing that language.
