Most Twitter users will use different IP addresses all the time. Twitter is mostly used on mobile devices, which get different IP addresses depending on which part of the network they are connected to. Mobile users by definition are typically mobile so they'll change IP address as they change geographic location. As for MAC addresses, many people have multiple devices, so they have multiple MAC addresses. Twitter uses much more sophisticated methods than you describe to weed out accounts it wants to terminate. :2 cents: Fact is buying a Twitter account is like playing Russian Roulette, you could pay the (ridiculous) six figures he is asking and then the next day *poof* the account is termed. Twitter, like any third party service, is only as good as the day it is working, nobody can guarantee what happens tomorrow. |
I messaged him but never heard back. My guess is he never was serious about selling or even owning the accounts. Who knows.

I have seen a method of accruing lots of followers.. When I saw it I thought of this guy.
It was clever..and it was something like this: 1. Message a celebrity 2. Say something along the lines of this..it could stand for anyone , ala insert x celebrity person here.. I'm not going to do the phrase justice, but here goes something like this ''I just wanted to say your an amazing human being with a wonderful character and a sincerely kind heart.. I've been a fan of yours for a long long time.I would consider it a great honor and be extremely humbled if you would follow me''. Of coarse it was within the character limit and phrased better than mine. It duped Stephen fry because that was the one Twitter I ever read and when I saw this statement I was curious.. When clicked on the persons Twitter who wrote this they had 1.1 million followers. Quite a few celebrities they had snagged with this ''endearing statement''. Which was no doubt un-altered from celebrity to celebrity. I'm short, it was clever. I thought it genuine at first too until I actually clicked the cunts Twitter. That was my only ever visit to Twitter, so as for as I'm aware everyone is doing this shit now. It was definitely psychologically based though. |

I'm sure there is more finesse to monotizing your followers.. But getting them seems to be the real trick.
I don't know Twitter very well, but I do know celebrities play a large aspect and attract a lot of traffic. It would make complete sense to use that to your advantage. If you could pick off celebrity followers as easy as this guy was.. You would no doubt accrue a large following of idiots by just picking off celebrities. My post was a shit example of the phrasing used, but it shares a similar sentiment. His sounded w lot better and it was easy to see how he got celebrities to essentially say yes to his uniquely phrased and stand out request. |
