In a way that is a complement that the Europeans were unable to realise their projects in Europe and had to flee / travel to the US to have the freedom to develop.

Aspects of American freedom are very positive, it is a shame that abroad US foreign policy is supporting the worse states.

American freedom is mostly economic freedom, and even that isn't doing that well. The rest things can be described as that they have the idea of freedom, but it hasn't realized that much. American freedom is kinda myth.

What America has, is a good economic ecosystem, just like China has these days. Although one big aspect of the ecosystem has somewhat fleed to China, etc.

I don't argue on that. But initially we were talking about the US education, which is just a joke.

Where every citizen (including kids and old men) owes more than 120,000 dollars to the other countries. In fact it's the World's biggest debtor economics. It's very easy be #1 in dollar country when you literally print these moneys. If the world will replace the US dollar with the Chinese yuan, the US will disappear in no time. Think about it.

Still, it has good economic ecosystem. Especially if compared to Russia. Russia's ecosystem is kinda just oil based industry; not that much of a ecosystem to speak of. And despite of Putin's attempts, the situation hasn't meaningfully improved.

Habla Finlando? You post me those Russian news and tell to Google translate. Here you go, you translate this time. Kinda old news from 2006, but it came first up from google.

"Viime vuosien talouskasvu ei kuitenkaan riipu pelkästään öljystä ja raaka-aineista. Etenkin presidentti Vladimir Putinin ensimmäisellä kaudella 2000-2004 toteutettiin tärkeitä verotukseen, omistusoikeuksiin ja yrityshallintaan liittyviä uudistuksia, jotka ovat helpottaneet yksityissektorin kehittymistä ja talouden monipuolistumista."

Well, I help you with this ready translate by google.

"In recent years, economic growth does not depend solely on oil and raw materials. In particular, President Vladimir Putin's first period 2000-2004 was carried out important tax, property rights, and corporate management reforms that have facilitated private sector development and economic diversification."

Tilastokeskus - Tieto&trendit - Venäjän talous vahvassa vedossa

But the situation is that these attempts haven't been very fruitful in the long run.

Oh and United States cease to exist? Russia is in the process of ceasing to exist with these low oil prices... Russia has a balanced budget with $90-$100 oil. Oil is at $50 and may never actually recover to $90-100

The reason why US education scores lower then a lot of places is because we accept EVERYONE even if they are idiots. Its easy to skew your scores when a country only accepts their elites

Russia?s civil liberties rating declined from 5 to 6 due to expanded media controls, a dramatically increased level of propaganda on state-controlled television, and new restrictions on the ability of some citizens to travel abroad.

Faced with international pressure and the rising potential for domestic discontent, the Russian government expanded its control of the media, stepped up a propaganda campaign to justify its actions and vilify its opponents, and cracked down on independent news outlets, particularly online.
Journalists, politicians, and family members who sought to investigate the deaths of Russian servicemen in Ukraine encountered bureaucratic obstruction and trumped-up criminal charges. Regional elections in September were tightly controlled from above, with any coherent opposition eliminated.
By the end of the year, Russia?s government was increasingly isolated from the international community and struggling to neutralize anticorruption activists and other domestic critics.

dyna mo 02-24-2015 08:51 AM

The Russian education system is marred by bureaucratic interference, international isolation, and increasing pressure to toe the Kremlin line on politically sensitive topics.

In March 2014, a leading history professor was fired from a Foreign Ministry?affiliated institute for writing an opinion article that compared the imminent annexation of Crimea to Nazi Germany?s seizure of Austria. In May, Putin signed a law that prohibits the ?rehabilitation of Nazism? and the spreading of ?intentionally false information? about the Soviet Union?s World War II actions.

Historians have warned that the new law could be used to punish scholars who are critical of government policies.

Also during the year, the authorities removed more than half of the previously approved school textbooks from the country?s classrooms, leaving much of the market in the hands of a publisher owned by a close Putin associate.

Yuan (CNY) not Yen and you already know about this Dyna as we had a previous discussion where you were once again, as always, fully own3d...

If you look back in history, when the GBP was the reserve currency (and one GBP bought you 5 USD) and USD took over, the UK began its decline and actually today the US looks a lot like the UK did back then. The UK was over extended colonially, and the US is over extended militarily. Of course, both are terrible indebted today.

Technically, he is right about decline because the Reserve currency status is so crucial. Although I doubt US will disappear or at least, see the example of UK loss of super status - what happened was that the decline began not longer after 1900 and has continued ever since. However, the UK never disappeared - just fell from being No.1 (by GDP) to what it is today position No.6 - UK is the 6th largest economy in the world today.

It took a good 115 years to fall six positions.

That does not mean UK is totally irrelevant today and US would take a lot longer to move down the rankings, partly because the only country near it in terms of GDP is China (You can't include Japan because its a basket case). It's worth noting, as I pointed out in another thread that China has massive foreign currency reserves (another name for a Country's bank account):

no study needed to show USA is not a democratic government, it's very clear for over a couple hundred of years this is a representative government, it;'s in the consititution.

that's not to be confused with a democratic society.

Okay, it belongs to the group of "most free", as do a big bunch of other nations too, but it doesn't say that it is the most free of all. And about the democracy; it didn't mean that you lack direct democracy; it meant that you lack any kind of democracy. Are you trying to be smart ass, or just stupid?

Representative democracy is a form of democracy and it is what is meant when people speak about democracy.

When you say 'US education', I think what you are referring to is a 'public school' education.

Assuming that's the case, what you are saying does have some merit as the quality of education one would receive at a typical US public school (elementary & high school) is not on par with the quality of education one would receive in a similar situation in Germany or Japan or a handful of other advanced countries. The problem with that logic is that it does not factor in the world class quality of education provided by many private schools.

I posted the link to the news about the study. Read it yourself. Answering to that you have representative democracy is just being smart ass or stupid. Either way, it has nothing to do with that study.

USA has so sucky kind of democracy that:

"Americans do enjoy many features central to democratic governance, such as regular elections, freedom of speech and association and a widespread (if still contested) franchise. But we believe that if policymaking is dominated by powerful business organisations and a small number of affluent Americans, then America's claims to being a democratic society are seriously threatened."

At some point it is viable to say that it isn't democracy, any kind of.
