Smoke some doobs, fuck my pornstar girlfriend when she wakes up, take a few hours off to go do some shopping for the house (and making money while I do so), not answering to anyone since I'm the Boss...yup, tough life. Worth every second I've ever spent in front of a computer monitor.

And I bought one Program. It made sense to add to my Network. Sometimes growing something is better than starting something new, sometimes not. Depends on the Investment.

(Or did you mean how can I find Appalachian Outlaws enjoyable? Man those people are motherfucking insane! Good times.)

Hell yeah Hoss!!

You need to stop being a little bitch and taking every comment as a direct personal attack on your manhood.

I clearly asked and I quote so you don't get confused "did you look into investing in any other businesses first before settling on adult?"

Now how did you take "investing in any other business" as me suggesting you go find a 9-5 job working for "the man" ?

You obviously want someone to tell you to do X, Y and Z. That's great, but considering your join date, what do you have to offer in return? I'm guessing not too much.

Bingo

Speaking for myself , I stopped assisting people awhile ago with specifics as it bit me in the ass 2 many times....

Ill help in a general way but no way in hell will I ever reveal anything thats relevant

To reiterate what I've been saying, since it seems to be lost on some people. I'm talking about ACTIVE users. I'm sure there are a ton of millionaire webmasters on gfy, but are they engaged and actively posting and discussing meaningful things? No. That is precisely the reason the original poster of this thread has a very valid point.

Why would the successful webmasters post here and have meaningful discussions? Take a look at the main forum threads. They probably lurk and read the threads, but the original poster is looking for quality discussions as opposed to 30 news threads per hour on topics from the isreal/palestine conflict to people kicking dogs.

True business, as k0nrad said, happens on smaller/private forums or via direct messaging.. It's not happening on the average gfy thread.. and that's okay, it is what it is. Just don't dismiss the original thread creators opinion, because he's right.

SOS there still are alot of people lurking and reading ...maybe not ass much as 10 years ago but hey are in the shadows

Demanding answers does not get you answers.

Providing value does.

Give it a whirl.

Well, since you began by defending the OP's position do not expect to switch to a serious business discussion mid-thread. Also, check the time I posted that (very late at night).

I also said this: "And I bought one Program. It made sense to add to my Network. Sometimes growing something is better than starting something new, sometimes not. Depends on the Investment."

But if you would like me to elaborate I will. When somoeone offers you a business that is producing revenue, and you calculate that in a few months you will get paid back and then it's pure profit moving forward, you grab it (if you can afford it). With mainstream the initial investment is usually much higher and you can expect to recoup your initial investment in 12-36 months. THEN it's profitable. So when presented with the opportunity to buy a successful, revenue-producing Program I went for it.

Do I also have mainstream investments? Sure I do (real estate, stocks, a couple small business ventures). One has nothing to do with the other. Does that better answer the question?

And I answered the way I did because this thread - and your position - is comparing working full-time in Adult to a basic 9-5 job and what percentage here on GFY does which. Maybe you need to not get confused dude.

Getting back to the original question...

In my experience, when it comes to business advice there is a better signal to noise ratio on xbiz dot net.

GFY is great for amusement purposes...but actually provides very little in useful information. And from the content of most posts, I am assuming that most members are not really what I would classify as adult webmasters, but are instead adult webmaster hopefuls. For example, you see post after post of people complaining about being owed a couple hundred bucks (or less) or worrying about the cost of VPS hosting... not exactly the worries of anyone who is making an income from this industry.

Not saying people aren't helpful...but when members are sharing advice with each other, when they really don't have the traffic, earnings or experience to give advice, it's not all that useful.

So, my question is, are there still any forums out there that are approaching this from less of an entertainment angle and more of an actual business angle? Of course, this question may not be answered, as I expect that the real webmasters aren't on GFY and they won't see this question.

The real webmasters of GFY have a secret forum that requires a special invitation with username an password to access. They will no doubt reach out to you if you are worthy. You are worthy aren't you?
If you have not received this invitation, you have your answer. In that case, try answer.com.
