Here in LA, the cops are called a gang of Blue
It's because they never do anything with just one or two cops. I've had 6 cops at my front door because they caught someone else using my identity.
In a perfect world, what you are asking for might happen, but LA is not a perfect world and the cops here get more training than most police. Shit happens, if you are tased and keep going, then grab a gun, every cop out there will react the same way, shoot the idiot! Doesn't matter how many bullets after the first one does it?

In that video, you can hear the Taser.

All these people that think it's the cops fault, plain and simple, you don't want to get hurt by the cops, don't resist arrest. They are trained to hurt you, they are trained to protect themselves. If someone grabbed a gun that was on my hip, I would kill them!

If you are at the zoo, are you going to climb the fence into the lions cage?

If you see a Hell's Angle, are you going to kick his bike?

Are you the kind of person that spits in the wind?

Ok, this is sounding like bad bad leroy brown

Those cops didn't see a black man, they didn't see a mentally disturbed man, they saw a human being that was a threat, both to themselves and others.

We would have a real problem if we told them to not resist when someone goes for their gun; YOU know that. Well, hopefully, but I am having doubts.

Never said that the solution to the LAPD cop problem is to have LAPD tell perps not to resist arrest.

Kinda like these 2 little old ladies delivering newspapers in Torrance, LAPD thought they were a 6'3" black guy so they just started firing into the back of their truck.

LAPD should have told them not to resist.

Your trolling skills need some work; there is nothing at all similar to the situations.

mentally ill people are prone to resist arrest. what do to in this kind of situation? just mark it up to an unavoidable casualty? or try to look for ways to curb these incidents?

does the guy who was just released from a psychiatric institution who screams down the street and stabs several people want to do that? no, not really but he is a slave to his psychosis. does the paranoid schizophrenic want to freak out and loose his shit when the cops show up? no but he does as he too is a slave to his disturbed frame of mind.

like i said, not everyone has the mental capacity to not resist when being arrested.

He didn't get shot for having mental issues.

He got shot for causing a problem that required police intervention, confronting police, refusing police orders, refusing to submit to police officers, being tased, and STILL going after a police officer's firearm.

I understand this guy had mental issues. However, that doesn't make it acceptable for him to do whatever he wants. These police officers just prevented a mentally ill with a long history of violent confrontations from arming himself and shooting at police officers and the general public.

This is the kind of comment that drives me nuts. NATURALLY a million different decisions could have been made by everyone at any point in the space / time continuum leading up to this event which was captured on video. This is usually where people pretend it was the parents fault, or the aunt, or some idiot who gives a royal fuck who. If we're just wildly speculating about what could have happened then why don't we just pretend he could have sprouted his wings and his horn and flown away with a virgin over the rainbow? So why didn't he do that?

The video shows what it shows and we comment on what we've seen. Those are the rules. The cop in the video at the end says all he needed to say to make it a justifiable killing. 1. He was suspect. 2. He reached for a gun. Period. That is not a high enough standard in my personal view and I shared it. I stand by it 100%, even though I COULD have baked a cake instead and avoided the whole thing.

again, not trolling. you want to think there is not an LAPD cop problem, I'm totally fine with that.

I think there is a cop problem, you seem to have a problem with that.

I'm amazed people seem to be unable to zoom out a fraction and see the larger point the OP and others are stating. Must be a thought process thing.

Fuck the mentally ill, sling them on the streets, then when they do something idiotic, due to you know, being mentally ill, the cops can justifiably shoot them dead, and problem solved. w t f, that's how it is in the land of the free and the home of the brave? Nobody here knows someone mentally ill? Surely Rochard must, he seems to know every other type of person/situation out there. No relations? In-laws? Old co-workers? Acquaintances? Friend's siblings/offspring?

Just zero empathy at all for another human being who wasn't born with the same mental faculties as the non-mentally handicapped, so fuck them just take a shortcut to culling? Fuck I despair sometimes. Cunts are cunts, but mentally ill people are *mentally ill* just like a person without full use of their legs is disabled, and you wouldn't expect them to easily run for the bus.

Also, I don't think anyone has yet said that the cops shouldn't have did what they did, in that moment? I fucking hate the lot of them, and even I wouldn't be so biased as to think they reacted wrong to the situation at hand. Then again, I'm also not so myopic as to not see the point being made about ultimately getting shot for being mentally ill.

yeah, I started doing that when you started sucking that clown blackmonster's cock, in the retarded thread where he seemed not to understand the alphabet, and the process of arranging letters to form words and sentences, and then said I was a racist. Didn't get around to blocking you as I've never had the problem others seem to have had with you, but yeah like I say, started skipping over your posts once I slotted you in the 'needs to suck an idiots cock to look good whilst not understanding the posts in a thread' category :thumbsup

My family is in the nursing home business. Luckily we dont train our nurses to kill every time a resident spits, hits, kicks or strikes with a cane, etc. We'd be filling hearses by the dump load daily.

Try turning up the volume and you can hear the cop yelling that the perp had his gun. That was the reason.

There were 2 cops indicted recently for beating the crap out of a guy that had his hands up. They were also yelling "stop reaching for my gun". Once the tape became available you could see he was not reaching for any gun and all charges against him were dropped.

Obviously I dont know what happened in this case but i cant help but think some of these cops were south park fans. "It's coming right for us!"

Stop resisting! He's going for my gun!

On the news they just showed the gun that was being reached for with a shell stuck like there was a misfire. In other words, the guy had his finger on the trigger.

And those people shouldn't be on the streets, hopefully in 5 years or so we will that with the help of Obama care such people will get the treatment and medication they need.

Until then they are going to kill or get killed. It doesn't matter if you like it or not, that's just how it works in the US.

Somebody should send them out on the streets to arrest these people then. I'm sure they would be much better at arresting mental patients high on meth than the police. I'd love to see those headlines on TV

With some of the shitters and spitters we have they'd probably do a better job. A large amount of our patients are diverted from the mental hospital since they never have room to house them all and we are a much cheaper cost per day.
