I was just throwing out a recognizable TGP name to make the point that similar is not equal to copied copyrighted material or design.

Wait a minute, 1's and 0's? That's mine!

I'm just here for the cookies. =) I'd rather have some special brownies though. :winkwink:

Those special brownies are not free - and only available under the counter. "take one and go away..GO!"

One more thing :)
Just wanted to say that I don't want to "win" - I just dont want anyone sabotaging my site.
I don't want him "down" or something similar. Just that everyone can go his own way.

Tho I wouldnt be sad if he would be gone :winkwink:

Well, by "win" I meant YOU win, in your life and business. Winning, despite what Charlie Sheen may think, is really about YOUR life and what YOU want. What another person or business does or has should not affect you, unless you are into jealousy and envy. :) Do your own thing and "win" at your own life.

PS: Add my sites! LOL

MakeMeGrrrrowl 03-06-2015 11:22 AM

I've only ever encountered one real disgruntled person who tried to mess around with my sites.

She key worded up her new website with my website name in the form of "I don't work at suchandsuch.com anymore" so anytime someone looked for my site, hers would pop up.

I waited for her to go away, I had my attorney send her a cease and desist. She ignored that demand and so, sometimes you gotta fight fire with fire. I have 35+ people working for me against just her. So, pretty quickly we solved that issue when I decided to play that way, though I definitely did not want to play. Sometimes you just have to lay the smack down and say......No bitch, NOT TODAY.

She's irrelevant now and this guy will be eventually. Sometimes it's better just to plug on and let his karma be his karma. Cheating in business is never the way to "stay" ahead in my experience, but once in a while you do have to roll up your sleeves and get nasty.

Just don't let it consume you.

Here's a pro tip for you: Everyone you compete with wants you out of business. All of them. The ones wasting time trying to get rid of you are literally your smallest concern.

Just focus on being the best option available to your customers and business partners and you can safely ignore the "competition".

If people don't want to do business with you for whatever the reason may be, then let it be their loss. If losing your business is truly a loss for them they will see it and others will too. And if it isn't you didn't deserve them in the first place.

Focus on what's really important and ignore the idiots. There are a lot of them so there's a lot of ignoring to do, best get started now.

@The Porn Nerd: got ya ;) The sites from your sig? Ill review them. And hit me up if you want to trade links somewhere ;)

@MakeMeGrrrrowl: Hope you are right with karma. The bad guy never wins in movies and lets see if it is here, too... ;)

@pompousjohn: Basically I agree, but I can't be the best option (at least for webmasters), when he is sending much more traffic. And I won't send an competitive amount if I lose backlinks every few days. Kind of a Sisyphus-thing.

LizardKing 03-07-2015 11:11 AM

But all in all thanks for the good words everyone.
Lets see how I compete in the future. Some sent me a PM with suggestions. I'll try them out!;)
And if some wants to switches from TPD to IWP or just don't give a fuck on his threats the offer still holds: free cookies for everyone! :D

Seems you are repeating capitalism in fast motion. Competitors are gaining strength by swallowing other competitors, eventually they are setting the standards. That guy obviously is on a mission. Like world domination.
When business rivals discuss they do it because all parts are benefitting from it. They find a solution fitting for everybody in their exclusive club. We call this cartel, or antitrust. See the news for popular examples. But TPD is not interested in discussing with you, because he wants to get rid of you.
You can take this to the public (like here), but apart from a few nice words you won't get much help. Most folks will just look for the popcorn.
In your position, I'd try to expand my activities to something TPD can't easily copy. You know some of the guys in your list personally? Write a review about their stuff, let them write guest posts on your site or something like that. Or, if you're a programmer, why not do a simple popularity contest with a bit of celebration for the winner? Focusing on your own mission, not his one, is the key.
You still would have a porn site directory, but with a personal touch. Will grow your traffic. Makes you laugh about TPD.

Not saying you copied, but the fact that you coded something yourself does not mean it can not be copied concept (not the code itself, but the concept).

true, but as I said: If it is copied (and I say its not) than it is copied from TBLOP, not him.
Thats the point

(Of course, you're not exactly in the clear on that count either - perhaps you could use that in your rebuttal "Yeah, I link to people who steal from you, but THEY do it more!")

Piracy sites are owned by the big programs.

RenlyMTL 03-11-2015 01:34 PM

Hey Lizard King, I have a couple of sites I'd like to get listed. Could you hit me up on ICQ? I've talked to The Dude before.
