64 oz a day is the minimum one should drink, a full gallon or more if you're really active. Add a lemon wedge to make it even more healthy and refreshing. Most importantly, avoid tap water since it has bullshit chemicals added. Spring water is essential. What's everyone's favorite brand of spring water? I like Deer Park, or Berkeley Springs from West Virginia if you can find it.

As for animals, I think domestic animals are different to wild. Looks at how deer drink. They are able to drink for minutes. From what i see in documentaries also canine animals are able to drink a lot. Plus you have to consider whether the mammal has passive / active regulation. My whole point with this is that having ability to choose WHEN we drink makes us forget the natural instincts once we had. |

Let's not forget, it also matters whether you're using the water in the body. So working out for 2 or 3 hours as a builder or sitting editing a movie, would difference in pints per sitting. After an hour shoot, sweating, hot lights, losing body moisture, it's easy to drink a litre or so of water :thumbsup |

I don't think humans have forgot natural instinct to drink. Try getting thirsty sometimes; I guarantee you will find your instinct to drink quite easily. During summer army exercises I surely found mine. Although I have been boyscout too (we did hang out with girlscouts FYI, no gay stuff), but for obvious reasons it wasn't as intense, as we were kids. If you think that you have lost instinct to drink, you just haven't got thirsty. |
