Not voting is irresponsible.

It't not about commingling email. In the normal business world, your predecessor is not going to read every email you ever sent looking for legal issues or embarrassing information. In the political world it's just the opposite - The next Democratic governor of Florida is going to assign staff to go over every email the former Republican governor ever sent with the intention of embarrassing the Republican party. That's just the way politics works.

Barry-xlovecam 03-30-2015 10:05 AM

Let me tell you how things work: Put it writing you may have to own up to it -- in the real world or the political world -- or in a courtroom.

Both of them (Hillary and Jeb) are brainless and incompetent, IMHO.

I agree with you 100%.

However, in the political arena it's a bit different. Valid communication in the name of government business is a matter of course, but four years after such communication can be used against someone and made to look embarrassing.

From a political standpoint I do not believe this is an issue for Hillary. The Republican party is already attacking Hillary before she is officially running; It's way too soon. They should have blown this up thirty days before the election, not months before she's made an announcement about running.

So, even though you constantly post politics, there is no political party you like or candidate you like ever?

I'll ask again: what is crazy or extreme about Gary Johnson?

You are always on here promoting despair over action. No offense, but can you please remind me what you do in this industry?

ragingrhizome 04-01-2015 02:37 PM

They would have had to be insane to run Hillary, the democrats seemed totally disconnected about how a large segment of the population feel about her.

Now it's going to be a toad race between two OTHER candidates who don't represent any of my interests and I'm really just on the edge of my chair to see who it will be.

Cruz is, if anything, almost more horrifying except that he will support gun rights and the established immigration laws. I used to be liberal a long time ago but ever since Clinton every single part of the Democrat plank has driven me farther to the right.

But I think everyone can agree that we live in an increasingly disturbing oligarchy. There ARE extreme distinctions between the two parties however and I am not a socialist.

I don't see the State department saying much about this. It seems this has been the Republican party hinting that Clinton has done something wrong. What this is really is another witch hunt - They are looking for something and they will keep on looking for something until they find something.

I don't believe you can be any more wrong.

Recent polls for Democrats put Hillary FAR in the lead with 49%. The rest are Warren 20%, Sanders 12%, Biden 5%, and so on. On the Republican side it's Bush with Bush 25%, Walker 17%, Rubio 15%, Carson 12%, Huckabee 7%, Christie 4%, Cruz 6%, Paul 4%, Perry 3%.

You are saying she is out of touch with the Democratic party yet leads with nearly twice the vote as Bush. I understand we haven't even started this yet, but it's pretty clear how this is going to fall already.

Actually I never said any such thing. I do think that if they run her they will be unpleasantly surprised at the outcome of the election.

Personally I don't think it's a good thing to have two families trading off the white house. If she wins, I suppose we'll have another 8 years of a Bush? That should take us through what, 2032?

By then we will be FUCKED and there will be no freedom left.

There have been multiple investigations into Benghazi and all of them have come back with more wrong doing. The last one is a Republican investigation - They are flogging a dead horse.

This is nothing more than a witch hunt.

benghazi has jack shit to do with any of this. this is about hillary permanently deleted emails after her employer requested them and that is going to cost her a chance to become president.

it's right there in the title.

So you're predicting what, that she won't make the primary or that she won't win the general election?

it's in the title. She's out of the race. it doesn't matter at what exact point someone is out of a race.

She isn't technically in the race. So you're saying she's out with no specifics which apparently just means you're saying she doesn't win the presidency.

Ok.

Benghazi is the reason we are discussing her emails in the first place. The Republican party investigation requested her emails, and discovered she ran her emails through her own servers. Although this is a common practice, the Republican party is trying to make this into that she did something illegal or at least something wrong - which isn't the case at all.

And you can claim Hillary is out of the race all you want, but the polls tell us differently. In the Democratic party she is the clear winner with 66% of the vote. On the Republican side, the highest front runner is Bush, who is leading with 21% of the vote. In other words, Clinton has three times more support in the Democratic party than the front runner of the Republican party. That is staggering. (BTW, this data comes from ABC News / Washington Post as of this morning, April 2nd.)

again, the subject of the emails is tangential.

polls at this point don't mean jack shit. you should know shit like that by now. i can point to a poll that shows jeb Bush is leading hillary and neither one is even in the race.

if i recall, hilary was beating obama by double digits this time in 2007. why even bring this up?

i hope this election is a repeat of mckinley roosevelt. where wall street thought they sidelined teddy by making him veep. mckinley dropped dead & teddy cleaned house. I hope hilary falls into a sewer & elizabeth warren becomes president.

Take it down a notch, man! You'll feel better.

Fact check time:

- Hillary is not officially in the race, yet.

- If she enters, she will win.

- Other dems know this - no one substantial is willing to go against her.

- Warren won't win. She's awesome and smart and a fantastic lady but Hillary would beat her. If anything, Hillary should ask Liz Warren to be her running mate.

- Republicans are a joke. All kinds of idiots have jumped in and all will lose to Jeb Bush. Jeb Bush is the republicans best chance to beat Hillary, and, he has already snatched up most of the donors and received most of the cash (just like George W did. So much for Jeb being his "own man"). Even Mitt Romney backed out.

. Forget Chris Christie - he has already fucked New Jersey out of the billions due to them from Exxon, and is as dirty as they come. He'll never win either.

Hillary FTW.

Because this thread is about how Hillary is "dropping out of the race". Nothing could be further from the truth. Her popularity with Democrats is still huge.

The polls are interesting and shows the Republican party is split. They have been since they lost to Obama.

Officially she is not running, but she will - she's been intentionally heading in this direction for some time now - and when she runs she will win. The Republican front runner right now is Bush, and no one outside of Florida really knows who he is. Other than him being Governor of Florida and the son of a President, most people know nothing about him. Hillary on the other hand has a massive leg up because everyone knows her from her time as First Lady, then Senator, then Secretary of State.

I don't really believe in Hillary myself, so I'll just wait and see when they have the debates. That's when I make up my mind who I will vote for if I do indeed vote.

I would rather support an Elizabeth Warren of even a Bernie Sanders over Hillary but thats not going to happen. So in the end it will be Hillary and the upside of her is if for no other reason just so Bill would be back in the White House. The entertainment value in the right wing response to that would be golden.

I think she's more talented than this, but the Bill thing is a huge draw. Nobody should imagine though, in reality, that we'll have Bill back. He's a shadow of his former self. Also the country is more polarized, so no one, not Warren, nor any other liberal champion will be able to get much done.

CDSmith 04-05-2015 01:53 PM

Back in '07 I openly predicted that the US very well may be having themselves a black president. Several of my fellow GFY'selfers (including a few in this very thread) shot back the old "it'll never happen" at me. I love when people say that to my predictions. Love it. "never happen" indeed.

Fast forward to present day, when again I'm seeing people debating the US presidential race. And here it is, CD's official assessment of the situation.

None of the past candidates the GOP has trotted out over the last 8 years carry enough chutzpah to beat Mrs Clinton. None. So barring someone of note stepping forward very soon you very well might be in for her being your first female POTUS.

I can think of really only two names that might be able to beat her, but since neither has expressed any serious interest in running it's not worth mentioning. :D

Hey it's still early yet, someone worthy may possibly rise from the primordial muck and draw the sword for the Republicans. Sure, it could happen. Think positive, right?

Now continue on, I look forward over the next 18 months to at least 500 more threads chock full of all the great platitards, uh, platitudes, I've come to know and love...

libtards
republitards
Obamatards
Romneytards
Hillarytards
Palintards
RonPaultards
Libertardians
Lefttards
REtards

It's going to be an entertaining race, I can feel it.

Let the special Olympics begin. :D
