Only 2 topics for me are off limits when it comes to fucking around, that's rape, and child abuse (either physical or sexual), anything else is fair game mostly, depending on my 'audience'. There's a difference with taking the piss out of a person directly eg

"haha your dad died of cancer I hope it hurt" and "lol child abuse cracks me up"

which are obviously very shitty things to say and aren't amusing in the slightest, and eg the old derek & clive sketch which included the cancer song (and yes I know the back story on that) which is here and starts at around 2:40 (WARNING - if cancer is close to home for you and there is NO situation in which you can laugh at the subject matter, do not watch/listen). I'm not saying cancer is funny, I'm saying their routine about it is (to me anyway, though I get not everyone shares the same humour) - make sense?

I think most things are about intent/context, especially comedy, and it's too easy to decide to get offended over everything you can. Kinda like how a close friend can say almost anything, and if you know their intent isn't nasty, they get away with saying things that would have you breaking jaws if a stranger said the same. If you see/listen to a comedian, you need to realise it's like he is talking to a room full of his best friends

I have heard several rape and child abuse jokes.... however that is very different than promoting rape and child abuse.... once here at gfy guys were talking were talking about how clever the comedy movie made about the killing felids was.... I don't think that's funny at all

Try to get a good job or education without being able to speak English.

I know you'll spend 20 minutes looking for exceptions but be practical. If you don't speak English you might as well hang out in front of Home Depot to get a job.

.

It depends where you are. In many places in the US knowing both Spanish & English is often a requirement to move into management. It depends on the local population.

You are just an old white guy whom thinks MERICA is getting taken over by the Hispanics all the while they have been here longer than the whites and Spanish has been spoken here longer as well. Right along side of English, since we started adding more states than the original 13 colonies.

Fuck you, again you're twisting the discussion to fit your flippant comments. And knowing English AND Spanish to advance into management just makes my point.

Did you know the Federal Government, EEOC allows only one employment discrimination factor? Guess what it is? Yea, speaking English. If you don't speak English you can and almost always will be turned down for a job.

So yes, everyone in the US should learn how to speak English. Why you would argue this fact is stupid.

Unfortunately the reason the laws become so restrictive is because assholes ruin things for everyone. You know like assholes in right wing govt making laws to allow discrimination of people, which in turn empowers hateful people like this pizza shop owner whom thinks it's ok to discriminate against people in the name of their religion..

So when you wonder why we have these laws and restrictions or why colleges over react.. Look no further than what is going on in IL right now with their new "Religious Freedom Law".. The haters make their own problems and as a result they have to be smacked down and then things are once again made more restrictive because some asshole thinks it's ok to discriminate and yet another layer of bureaucracy has to be added to make sure they can't.

It wouldn't be like this if not for assholes whom discriminate. :2 cents:

It still doesn't change the fact that English is not the official language of the US because we have none and that Spanish has been spoken in the country far longer than English..

And in England Latin was spoken before English and before Latin, Ancient Welsh and other associated Celtic languages like Welsh or Cornish predominated. Just saying.
