I was trying to make sense of why they'd waste such time and resources turning the spy cross-hairs on Americans, instead of hostile groups in the Middle East. You know, like the ones who did 911? Then a possible scenario occurred to me.
Maybe the NSA doesn't have the kind of access to telecoms and internet infrastructure in the Middle East that they do here in the USA. They'd have to deal with each of those governments first. Maybe they can't depend on every government in the Middle East to agree 100%, cooperate with 100% of what they want, 100% of the time. However, in the USA its a non-issue. With the wide-open southern border, where anyone from anywhere can cross over without question and possibly be rewarded with citizenship, could it be that they WANT every hostile group in the world to cross over into USA via Mexico? So they can spy on their phone records and internet traffic unimpeded? And then use that information to thwart any evil intent those groups might have? If that's the plan, it seems like a very bad idea, and a very risky gamble. But its one thing that might explain why they're so hell-bent on continually extending and passing such Bizarro-world laws. Just my 2 cents. |
I really hate you guys for your freedom !

This doesn't mean that the cops are just going to draw your name out of a hat and one afternoon arrest you. They have better things to do. However, if something were to happen where you were involved in an incident where the authorities might investigate you then you could have problems. They start going through all these emails, messages phone records etc that they have been keeping on you and they can pick and choose stuff that might help them prove you are guilty of a crime. You may have nothing to hide. Most of us are likely that way. That doesn't mean that you will never be involved in a situation where those things may eventually be taken out of context and used against you. |

Just look at the TSA at the airports. They've never found a single "terrorist" or bomb. But they find plenty of pot and baggies of cocaine. It was just an excuse to give the govt. the ability to FINALLY search us. And we the people are practically BEGGING them to do it. Disgusting. |

The whole "nothing to hide so I don't care" implies that the sole purpose of privacy is to hide wrong-doing. That is why you get blasted. |

2) Send letters via snail mail and stop using email, facebook, etc 3) Get a CB radio and walkie talkies for your family and friends Otherwise deal with the fact that one day they're going to spy on you because if you're not doing anything wrong you've got nothing to worry about. ie: Coming soon the Intelligent Toilet |

And speaking of... here's another Bizarro-world factoid. "The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is allowing illegal immigrants go around airport security to catch planes without a photo identification required of all other passengers, a high-level DHS source tells Judicial Watch." DHS Source: TSA Lets Illegal Aliens Surpass Airport Security to Board Planes - Judicial Watch Welcome to the Twilight Zone. |
you should read the docs and you will get an answer :P
