I understand your frustrations JIBCONTENT and I assume most content producers and studios also share your concerns.
IMO violence will not solve the problem. I am relatively new in the industry but came in knowing that the hands of the law do not like to get dirty in our business and its affairs. Possible solution ? Create a syndicate of ALL studios and content producers that is unbiased, transparent, open to everyone: the 'liked' and the 'not so liked'. Have a small membership fee to cover for an independent panel of auditors that are trustworthy. Meet (online or in person), brainstorm new marketing strategies, develop acceptable guidelines that we all abide by. We create our own laws and we can regulate our own affairs if we are mature enough. Then any company or individual that doesn't respect the system will be blacklisted by everyone. The system will have our interests at heart and not the ones of the thieves.:2 cents: |

Get started, create a thread regarding the goal, and post your progress. I support your idea, others will too. We disagree on the violence issue though :) |

A peaceful kumbaya group can't hurt, together we are stronger bla bla all that - but can we at least throw breaking pirates fingers into the mix? We'll find out which hand they use for the mouse and smash only the good hand ok? :1orglaugh |

Here is a link to a Pirate. Lets see what you or anyone will do. (I'm not talking about just removing his auctions.) |
So, how many have you taken down so far? (and I'm not talking about just making screenshots and name-less threads on forums)

So if you lose or forget a customer they could be a target.

1. When you threaten someone you don't do it where any other person aside from your target can see/hear it.
2. You do it once, and then carry it out. Take this on board. |
just like pirates will find the way around any restriction. Content producers need to get creative on new ways to make content and prevent loss.
for example: make them wear a uniform that represents your brand make performers say your URL outloud the pirate is always a pirate, the pirate is not innovative, he is a leech, and leeches will stop bothering if you stop feeding them, eventually they will find a way around your new method, but make it harder for them instead of complaining. on our company end we make them use tshirts with our name, hell you could even upsell the tshirt, connect the dots and you shall be free:2 cents: |
That ought to do it. Thanks very much Ray.
