No one stays on top forever, but we will stay on top for the foreseeable future and it sure as hell wont be Russia whom replaces us. I don't think it will be China either.. they have been on the verge of crashing for a long time now. When China tries to switch to a domestic economy they are going to fracture. There are far too many have not's in that country to not have a civil war.

IMO when or if the US ever falls, the rest of the world will be fucked as well. There wont be another Super Power to take our place. I think either the oil crash will end the ability for any single country to hold world dominance unless some major breakthroughs happen.

Your right, although i think its going to be more of a power shift where the US has less dominance, and the BRICS nations will be taking a nice chunk of that. Its a good thing, as long as the people running your country don't take us all down with them in some insane attempt to hold onto power :)
