I think we all think the same thing, anyone would rather be able to incapacitate an intruder, and not have to kill them, but in the dark and your mind racing and not knowing what weapons the other person has, and knowing your family or friends that are also in the house lives could depend on the situation, not just yours, if a person kicked in my door in the dark, I would have to say I'd shoot to kill.. And yes, it would be horrible and I'd never be able to forget it and wish it wouldn't have happened that way..
