At first glance this seems really bad, but after looking it over, it's not so clear.

The police car arrives with its lights on, and stops right in front of this group of kids.

The kid who gets shot tries to nonchalantly walk away and get outta there. He was completely aware of the police being there, so the headphone argument is bunk.

Then it looks like he's walking away, but in the stills you can see he's actually facing the officers and walking backwards near the end.

Did he deserve to be shot? Probably not. But don't reach into your pocket while ignoring police commands...

Counter to that, don't shoot someone until you see a gun.

This is always my favorite question and one of the stupidest and funniest things to ever be said.

If you want to know what its like, Then you can very easily simulate what happens to the cop the instant he draws his weapon.

Go over to your local outdoor gun range. Get a target and have someone draw YOUR leg on the target and put it at about 4 yards 12 feet or so.

Now. Run a mile. Come back instantly draw and fire 2 rounds.

See how close you get to that leg.
