I take back my thank you. I'm not even going to say goodbye! |
ive certainly learned some people have no manners
|
Did you at least supersize their meal? If not, that's poor manners on your part.
|
Actually text your 'friends' with this:
"Hey you owe me $22.50 for dinner last night' (or whatever the cost was). When they text you back with 'wtf?' go: 'Well, I only pay for dinner for my grateful friends. Since you didn't say 'thank you' I assume we were splitting the bill. Sorry, my bad.' That should send a clear message for next time. LOL (And PS: You can't really complain about people with bad manners when you call Sly an idiot and moron, now can you? Just sayin'.) |

To me its a wash. Did you tell them "thank you for allowing me to take time off from my miserable little life". Probably not. So stop whining. |

I can only speak to what I do. If someone pays for me I always thank them. If I happen to forget, it bothers me, and I try to remember to thank them the next time I see them.
When I'm the one treating I don't place any expectations on it, if thanks are given it's nice to hear. Far be it for me to force my manners on others. :D But honestly I can't recall it ever being an issue. Basic manners in my view, and I've found that usually there's one person in the group who remembers to say thankyou, then the rest give their heads a shake and say it too. But if not, whatever. Sign of the times maybe. |

How often do you buy gifts for other people? Dinner? Event tickets? Doesn't sound like very often. That's okay, perhaps you are not financially able to do so. But do yourself a favor and get over your neediness, the quality of friends you make will be higher and little things like this will not be such an issue for you. |
