Donald Trump files $500M lawsuit against Univision

Donald Trump has filed a $500 million lawsuit against Univision after the network dropped his Miss USA pageant over his comments about Mexican people.

Univision last week announced it would not broadcast July 12?s Miss USA pageant taking place in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, after Trump described some Mexican immigrants as criminals and ?rapists? during his June 16 announcement that he?s running for president.

On Tuesday Trump filed a lawsuit in New York State Supreme Court. He said in a statement, ?Nothing that I stated was different from what I have been saying for many years. I want strong borders, and I do not support or condone illegal immigration. There is a high level of crime occurring in this country due to unchecked illegal immigration. This is a major security issue for the United States. Additionally, the terrible trade deals our government is routinely entering into with Mexico are causing great financial harm to our country. We are losing a huge number of jobs, manufacturing opportunities and money due to poorly negotiated trade deals, a fact that [is] undisputable. That won?t happen if I become president ? this disturbing trend will end and it will end quickly.?

He continued, ?I have great respect for Mexico and love for the Mexican people and their tremendous spirit! However, their leaders and trade negotiators are far smarter than those representing the United States, and our citizens and economy are suffering greatly as a result.

Their response was..

In a statement, Univision called Trump's lawsuit "factually false and legally ridiculous." It said it will "continue to fight against Mr. Trump's ongoing efforts to run away from the derogatory comments he made."
He also has apparently lost 2 more TV deals with two diffrent companies and both the hosts of his pageant have stepped down..

Will Trump soon be filing bankruptcy a 5th time... :1orglaugh

The guy running for President doesn't understand that the First Amendment does not apply to corporate contracts with morality and other clauses?

That's scary.

As President, will he just sue anyone that disagrees with him?

dyna mo 07-01-2015 09:21 AM

so macys dropped the Trump clothing line, kowtowing to liberal pressure. i'm pretty sure i mentioned a week or so ago that his comments and announcement would cause long lasting irreperable harm to his brand.

i have to add, i get that he shot his mouth off, he could have been more courteous, thoughtful, wtfever in how to state the issue, but the fact he shot from the hip with his comments also shows he's not being handled with handlers and others telling him what to say, while i disagree with the over the top brashness of his comments, i do find his lack of needing to play to groups refreshing, he tells it like he thinks it is and that is something that i would like in a president.

not saying he's my guy, or Trump for president. open-minded pros and cons is all.

epitome 07-01-2015 09:23 AM

We should also take issue with anyone that inflates their net worth using deception. What else will he lie about?

His primary business now is licensing the Trump name. He reminds us of this fact whenever a project fails. He gets a tiny slice of equity for use of Trump name.

To get his fake net worth he counted equity he doesn't have and also counted projects he developed for others, but does not own.

This guy is a fraud like the rest and is being presented as a breath of fresh air.

He's no better than Hillary.

I just hope we do not end up with a Bush, Clinton or Trump come 2016.

The problem with this Dynamo, is that he doesn't seem to have the ability to keep his dumb mouth shut. His "shooting from the hip" would cause this country a lot of harm, because many places have diffrent customs and some dumb ass commit he makes down the line could cause lots of problems with diplomatic relations with other countries..

He will never be president all he is doing is trying to make his "Brand" worth more and is failing miserably at that. He will certainly not help the Republican brand and is further helping push them toward more crazy..

all this talk about brands. it's over-emphasized. obviously this is not and was not a branding effort.

and i don't think it's accurate to assume his style would be detrimental to the USA. while i tend to agree, i am reminded of RR's "we begin bombing in 5 minutes", the fact that BO is considered weak by foreign leaders, putin, terrorists, etc. i can't sit here and claim i know his style would be bad for America for certain. Moreover, his style is quintessential AMerican. that's what we do, we talk loud and carry a big gun.

it's not like USA foreign policy is a shiny beacon of how to do it right.

SuckOnThis 07-01-2015 09:49 AM

Yea its quite refreshing that a guy had to use paid actors at his announcement to be President. :1orglaugh

He's already pissed off most of Mexico and their govt..

You can call Obama weak all you want, but it certainly wasn't George Bush whom gave the order to go after bin laden or to hit the Taliban in Pakastain. Where Bush allowed them to hide untouched..

I don't care what someone else thinks someone looks like, it's about the actions, not appearance. bush talked tough and then allowed bin laden to sit hidden away and allowed the Taliban to attack our troops and hide in Pakistan untouched. Obama didn't.. So whom had the better policy?

Obama did what had to be done, Bush talked a lot about doing it...

perhaps he got the idea from Hillary, since she uses it frequently. her announcement ad of her running was loaded with actors, her "impromptu" coffee shop chats with "the locals" are actually with her tactitions she has flown in and it's all scripted.

I'm not the one calling him weak, i am the one relaying that sentiment of him by foreign leaders.

do you really care that Mexico is pissed off about that comment? i mean really. i was studying crime stats of illegal aliens yesterday, it's a problem, and Mexico doesn't give a shit about it. so really, why should anyone give a single fuck that mexico is pissed off.

France is pissed off right now that BO and his NSA wiretapped their top leaders. who gives a shit that France is pissed off right now? not 1 single fucking American.

LOL. That's called "television".

A good friend of mine recently did a commercial for Chilli's restaurant. They got a bunch of actors who had never met and told them to pretend like they knew each other for ages and were having a great time. You didn't really think people in commercials were all best buddies who were having fun, did you?

It's television. It's all fake.

(Hate to do this to you, but reality TV is all fake too!)

Thats fucked up too, I'm not a fan of Hillary but I don't see how that makes Chump any more credible.

The Apprentice fed his big ego, as did the pageant show. I guarantee he feels a big hit with their loss. I'd be surprised if he's not desperately looking for a new show be on.

Get the fuck outta here! No way!??

How does this relate to politicians staging campaign events such as "impromptu" coffee stops, with actors vs locals as they claim?

He is never going to be president, makes all that easier for Clinton to win this.

Magnetron 07-09-2015 04:45 AM

There's still plenty of time for Bernie to get his name and face out in front of all those peoole who aren't glued to politics.

Trump should just stick to selling his name like that line of Trump mattresses.
