the actors and crew on sister/sister were possibly the nicest people I ever worked with, I did get injured on set and I was on disability for 2 years until I was declared permanent and stationary (I think that's the term, don't really remember)

i've got a minor in CS along with my major- classic military history from UC Berkeley.

graduated 96.

i started off there studying CS, but realized i didn't go to college to get specific tech education, i went to college to learn how to learn. i don't recollect specifically, but i was prolly 8-10 courses away from getting the CS degree as well. CAL was tough though. rigorous.

When each state left the union they wrote a deceleration of why they were doing so.
Each state putting ink to paper outlining their reasons. In all these declarations you can easily read slavery as a key point. You do not need to follow the history books or propaganda. You can simply follow each stats own written words.

You are confusing the secession and the war. Yes the confederate states withdrew from the Union, because their economies were at stake over slavery. However the North did not go to battle with the south over slavery.

The north fought the south in order to force the south back into the union and to control them. union troops would not of marched on the slave holding states over slavery had they not left the union. Slavery, would have continued on for a very long time if there was no break in the union at that time.

Go read The Declaration of Causes of Seceding States. It states in black and white why secession took place and it wasn't for their right to keep eating grits.

Lincoln should have just let them secede. They would be a 3rd world country and the rest of the US would be that much better off.

this is a subtle point. the op myth claims the war was not fought over slavery because the North was fighting to keep the Union intact. that's misleading. a war is fought by 2 sides. it is most certainly true that's why the North DEFENDED the union against the OFFENSIVE attack by the South. the South, by their own accounts, words, deeds and documents, were fighting to protect their economic system of slavery.
