It's legal to shoot black bears, why is that any less despicable than shooting a lion? When was the last time you ate bear meat? They are hunted to be stuffed and put on display just like a lion but you don't see people ruining a man's life when tens of thousands of people go out and pick up their bear hunting tags every year.

Yeah... murdered.

You know what I would love to see? The word "Sport" to be stripped of all hunting with guns of all animals.

There is absolutely nothing sportsman or sports-like to kill an animal from a hundred feet away with a high powered rifle and telescopic site.

2 Equally matched people or teams fighting for a goal is a sport. A naked guy in the forest with only his bare hands to kill an animal with is a sport. Anything else he has such as a weapon or even clothing gives him an unfair advantage.

I would never shoot a lion or harm one in way but some of you cunts are taking this way too far. Do you cunts realize that you can legally buy lion meat in the USA? So no doubt you dumb cunts are going to protest and change the laws. Right? Of course you won't lift a finger to change the laws because you're a bunch of dumb emotional cunts. The people who made this a big story are pissed because he shot a particular lion not the fact that he killed a lion.

jscott 07-28-2015 10:25 PM

Vikingman, you obviously cannot read. It's the point of "hunting for game", or "mistreatment/abuse/torture of animals" (at least those are my problems)

Eat meat, go ahead, the world will never change about that. But cant it be done humanely?

As for hunting for fun/game, that is probably 1 of the worst things people do in the world, i guess that is why it's fact that people who intend to kill/hunt/torture animals for fun/game are more likely to become rapists, child molesters and murderers... FACT

so qft

Hey dumbfuck stoner fuckwad, it was an illegal kill.

VikingMan 07-28-2015 10:54 PM

so if it was a legal kill and if the lion died immediately without suffering then it would be okay? I personally cannot kill any animal. I ran over a bunny rabbit last week and even feel bad about that.

Bladewire 07-28-2015 11:07 PM

When you look into the mentality/psychology of dentists you see they are either sadistic and enjoy giving pain to strangers, or they are failed wanna be physicians delegated by poor grades to being veterinarians or dentists, creating envy, leading to low self esteem, that can only be satisfied by creating the illusion of dominating/killing something perceived as greater than themselves.

Napoleon syndrome. Sad

@L-Pink: Apples to oranges

You are an idiot. Why? Before asking a question (especially one so moronic) read up on the subject. Make yourself informed before relying on other mostly uninformed people to "answer" your questions.

First of all, the fact you don't understand the outrage over this is a problem. Since you now say you are not defending him, your first reply to this thread should have read..." I am dumb, and lazy. "

Stop with the argument about donating to preserves. The animal was a "celebrity." The animal brought in money from tourism. The preserve will stand to lose millions now.

All of the lions's offspring will most likely be killed by the new pride leader.

They led the animal out of the preserve. Then they just drove up to it and shot it with an arrow and it ran off. They had to search for it, and then finally shoot it. The animal was used to vehicles driving up to it, and around it. Where is the thrill of the hunt? I don't have a problem with hunting, and I don't have a problem with hunting rifles, but this was not hunting.

There is a reason for the outrage. Fuck that guy. I hope he has a lot of pride showing that trophy off to all his friends and family. I hope he soon realizes there are other dentists in his area that his patients can go to as well.

Killing majestic animals for "sport"

This "majestic" stuff is just hypocrisy. The real deal is just the endangered status and maybe if it would be smart enough.

Who would save the rats? Not majestic enough? Might even be smarter animals than lions.

Why are you nitpicking? The poster obviously agrees with you. Why go PC? Rats? Give me a break.

Would you call a rabbit majestic? How about a fish? There is nothing wrong with using the term "majestic."

My whole point is that this majestic stuff is irrelevant from conservation point of view. Differentiating animals like that is real problem from the view of conservation as many species get extinct because those are not cute or majestic. There is nothing wrong in killing majestic animals, nada. It is fucking irrelevant factor. Relevant factor for lion is its highly endangered status.

So, who would save the rats?

This is all about the thrill of killing. Stalking or getting a "kill" shot can be done without the need to kill the animal. His obsession is clear, he wants to kill as many different animals as possible.

Hunting includes having prey. Ask the lion, it knows.

And I agree. However, I don't see the point for calling someone out for using the term. If by using the term, it lights a fire under someones ass and they click on your sig, why would you have a problem with that? Are you saying Lions are not "majestic?" Are you saying rats are?

When an orangutang walks, would say he walks "majestically?" Its simply a term used as a description. It's not going to make the rats endangered.

By the way, using your method of thinking... you should change the picture in your sig, to lets say, maybe a rat? I mean, by focusing on your chosen animal, people will forget about the other animals and they might become extinct or something. :winkwink:

I'm not going to argue with you. It would be more productive to agree that we are on the same side of the issue and move on. No need to nitpick about things that really make no sense. Majestic, beautiful, graceful, clumsy, wonky, dorky.... cute. Descriptors of the English language.

It wasn't about "majestic" per se if you didn't get it. It was about how this kind of classification is nonsense in conservation. I just replied to what L-pink wrote; I don't know his whole view into this and as this is a forum it wasn't reply just to him, as hopefully can be seen from the message too.

In this thread you can see very sadistic and cruel people replying to this subject (wishing all kinds of shit for that dentist). I don't think that development of that kind of behavior or people altogether is good for anyone. People alienating from nature isn't good for conservation.

Lion is a predator as are we. As a predator it likes to hunt. You know; we have reward system for things those promote survival. You get satisfaction from eating, sex, etc., and most people/ other predators; from hunting too. Well, at least they would if they wouldn't be so alienated from nature. But many of those still fulfill their hunting behavior in a way or another, successfully or not.

I guess you eat too as you are alive, for food/survival and maybe for a enjoyment too. Making a hired kill doesn't really make that much difference, at least end result wise. Also, I don't know is that good direction for humankind if we are ashamed about what we are and are trying to push it as far from us as we can.

So, if that hunt was easy for Palmer; I guess the chicken wings, etc. you eat were even easier for you. And one chicken has only pair of wings. So in one chicken wing meal there a shit load of dead chickens. Multiple hired kills or however should this outsourcing be called for.

You commented hunting in general and not just about lions as do have many other people too.

You replied to this.

"Hunting includes having prey. Ask the lion, it knows."

Each time you eat something and hopefully not for god's sake for enjoyment and surely not in excess (for fat); something has to die. So eating for enjoyment requires killing.. for enjoyment if we follow that analogy we have seen in this thread. If it is just for enjoyment, does it really make any difference that does the killed thing end as a rug or in your mouth? And let's keep the endangered animals out of this.
