That was BRUTAL!

I took Coutinho and Kouyate out of my team last minute, devastated. Great opener to the season tho.
One game left for GW1, Citys time to shine. |
GAME WEEK 1 COMPLETE:
Wow that was a pretty shocking first GW with an overall avg score of 34 points. GW1 is always a random event so if things didn't go to plan remember we have 37 more GWs to go. The transfer window is still open with lots more deal likely to take place in the coming weeks. Well done to the guys in the top 3. 60 point hauls was a great start to the campaign. We have a record number of teams in the league this year so thanks to Poppy for getting everyone involved and a big thank you to Ross at http://www.trafficforce.com for putting up the great cash prize! |
Never great having your keeper sent off for starters on gameweek 1. Bah !!
|
This is a lot of fun and my team is off to a good start :thumbsup
|
I'm in first place!
Critics may say "It was all luck to get all those points, it's actually crazy. You have your captain on the bench and are playing with 5 defenders yet you still are top after GW1. Either way, good effort I have to admit, ballsy system but your defense absolutely cleaned up for you with Kompany getting a goal as well. I see some tough weeks ahead for you tho, Man City sold Dzeko so you are going to have to transfer him out lol." However in reality, I'm sorry to say, the critics are looking at my team all wrong. What they call '5 defenders' are actually what we refer to as 'five very shy strikers' and each is lethal when finally given the opportunity to shine. Dzeko will be awarded our team mascot suit and shall parade along the sidelines during games selling beer. Also, our Captain was not 'on the bench', he was a decoy working feverishly out of bounds to capture the opposition's attention while blurring their ability to focus on the action. Now I just need to figure out how to fake a whole bunch of injuries to run out the clock and win the tournament, the same way real soccer teams do it! :winkwink: |

You won't end up in the Top 10 at the end of the League, wanna bet? :winkwink: |

Luck, skill or magic, who cares, great effort all the same. I'm coming for ya now tho, it's on! |
My entire team has a hamstring injury... please keep the clock running for a few more weeks while we get medical attention from our trainers.

Damnit, missed the deadline as I didn't know these Friday night games were a new thing! Oh well...lol.

Game week 2 complete:
Seems that the bandwagon players managed to do it again for week 2 :upsidedow If this is your first year in FPL you have come in at a time where things have really been thrown up in the air! Congrats to you guys at the top getting over 100 after the ups and downs of the first two weeks is great stuff :thumbsup Oh and a special mention to Manager Relentless for using his Tripple Cappo chip on Bony :1orglaugh |

* Two weeks done and 'the guy who watches a few world cup games once every four years' is now entrenched in SECOND PLACE! :winkwink: |
Game week 3 complete:
Good luck to all for the next game week :thumbsup |
Thank God for Cech! Not a great week for me, but I remain focused!

Some big players sitting on page 2 of our league, not naming any names but dayuuuuum! :winkwink: |
Another week down, another crazy set of results. Chelsea losing to Crystal Palace at home, only their second lose at home under Mourinho. United struggling badly and losing to Swansea. Liverpool destroyed. Manchester City are looking real strong already but have just added one of the best young players in EU to their team.
I'm loving this season so far. We need Cheslea, United and Arsenal to splash the cash today/tomorrow and bring in some quality or I think City are going to run away with the title this year. Transfer deadline day is approaching, can't wait to see who arrives at each team. |
Nice post Ross. Yeah, crazy results for sure.
On a separate note, where is Coatsy? He's not in the league anymore :( |
I give up already... :Oh crap

Game week 4 complete:
Now we are in the middle of the international break and the transfer window is now closed. Up until January we now know the teams players that are available for our FPL teams. If things have not gone to plan don't worry as we 34 more GWs to go. So stick with it as it can all change over the many months ahead. Good luck to all for GW 5 :thumbsup |

Leaving the league is possible without deleting your team so maybe he will try to come back laster in the season. I for one will be the first to remind him that FPL is not for quitters :winkwink: |
Game week 5 complete:
Seems like CFC are falling of a cliff when it comes to results. If Newcastle had have beaten WestHam last night CFC would have been in the bottom 3! City train keeps on rolling 5 wins and not a single goal conceded. The biggest loss for City is the Aggy injury which has also kept him out of the CL fixture at 13m+ many will be hoping he is fit for the next GW. Defenders are racking up great points and some great midfield options available. The hardest choice is who to have as your front 3. Good luck for GW 6 and see some of you in Amsterdam & Prague :thumbsup |
this is a nightmare start lol
|
I was sitting in 7th place until that West Ham match. I have also played my wildcard already, I know it's early but I had to get rid of Costa, Milner and Clyne, they just weren't producing. I'm really happy with my team now, my front 3 are a bit weird but so far they are making it work.
|
Well, somehow the system didn't play my wildcard properly, or perhaps it was me fucking around w/ these stupid new chips they implemented. So, I took a -24pt hit! Oh well, onwards and upwards. Still early!

Had my first "decent" week since this season began. Onwards and upwards :1orglaugh

Game Week 6 Complete:
Ross did you shoot your triple capo chip too soon on Martial :upsidedow FrogLife is making a pretty solid gap between the chasing pack. So many had City to run away with the league and now back to back defeats! United topping the table which is very strange. GW 7 coming up good luck to all :thumbsup |

I'd have an additional 30 points if I stuck with Alexis tho :1orglaugh |

Horrible week for me. Looks like it is WC time!
|
played a wildcard last weekend, in time to put a man city back 3 in. And I fucking support Spurs :1orglaugh
Awful fantasy football season so far for me, thankfully my fun bets are doing a lot better (100% profit, though I've laid out that profit on 3 bets today... couple of singles and a treble) - obviously it always takes a few weeks for all teams to settle at the start of every season, but fuck me week 8 now and chelsea are still hit and miss as to when they are going to find their groove. Spurs but for being robbed on opening day by man u would be 2nd on goal difference, so that's another jaw dropper.. man u doing better than I thought they would be this season... leicester and west ham players racking up the points in dream team land... and gotta feel for bournemouth's Wilson injured this early in his Premiership career Anyway thought this deserved a bump, so GL this week to me (I fucking need it) :thumbsup |
Ok so who had Aguero as captain ?? :1orglaugh
|
Quote:
how's that for the perfect triple captain week lol |
Quote:
Oh and I captained AGOALoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!! :thumbsup |
yeah pretty sure he is using auto-selection etc. And yep saw that lol, nice one :)
as for chelsea... jeez... my bets lost so I got emotional and stuck all my seed money on them at 4/5... holy fuck I'll never learn >< |
Finally good week for me.

Game Week 8 Complete:
Wow what a week for high scores most don't get over 100 unless it's a double GW! Seems the FPL has started to return to normal service after a very strange first few weeks with the big hitters coming good. Aggy scored 5 goals vs Newcastle and Sanchez also has 5 goals in 2 games. Arsenal totally destroyed ManU in the first 20 mins with LVG looking clueless. CFC are in total turmoil after losing 1-3 to the Saints. The Jose interview after the game was really embarrassing 7mins of totally cringeworthy stuff. We also have a big manager change last night with Rogers being sacked by Liverpool and it will be interesting to see who replaces him with Klopp and Ancelotti the front runners. We now have an international break so we are all hoping our players make it back with no injuries. Aggy and Sanchez both went off this GW with slight injuries so the 2 week break will be good for them to get fully fit for the next GW. Goog luck to all for GW9 :thumbsup |

Last week i make change putting Aguero on the bench and that was pretty bed move by me

Ash, you nailed it this week mate, can't believe you scored 110 points but still not the top points scorer, pipped by 1 point, crazy haha. I had an average week, forgot to change my captain which cost me 14 points so I'm a bit pissed about that but otherwise I'm still in a strong position. Just made 2 transfers today as well, cleaning the team up a little bit for after the Internationals. |
Quote:
Well done, I knew it was just a matter of time before you took the lead and started to run with it. |
Im getting better results this year and just made my free transfer, im going for more points this week

Another big week of games this weekend, some great results. I watched a lot of games this weekend and figured I'd give my take on some of them.
Arsenal - cruised to a good win, first half they were sloppy and not so enegetic, second half they dominated and should have had more than a 3-0 victory Man City - Although they won 5-1, they still looked sluggish IMO, none of their goals were amazing, Sterling played well and De Bruyne is pure quality but they still have some passengers in that team that they need to ship out. Man Utd - Great win for them against a tough Everton team, first and third goals were defensive mistakes but you still need to take the chances. They still look a bit short in midfield and need another creative spark, it can't all be down to Mata but they are improving Chelsea - didn't catch much of the game but I saw the goals, first one was a horrible mistake OR great closing down by Willian, depends how you view it. Costa getting a couple of goals is going to be important for them, he looks fitter and sharper than he did the first 5 weeks of the season. Hazard benched is very interesting, he could stay there for a while if the team keeps winning. Some big players missing this week too so the points scoring was all over the place but still most people in the league had a good week. |
Forgot to pick my team this week before I went away for the weekend... another shitty week lol, and don't think I'd have done any better anyway. All but given up already this season... dismal!
