Indeed, always best to take your time & not rush in!

I noticed an advert on a pc guide website from FF, a popover. It said, something about their angry with microsoft, especially with the new 10 denying search engines. I can't remember the site, but the point is, microsoft have certainly pushed boundaries & are trying to make os their way & no choices :Oh crap

FWIW, CS2 was one of my concerns when upgrading from XP to W8. It mostly works, but still occasionally does some weird things, like taking over the screen, even when another window is selected in the task bar (have to minimise CS2 to be able to see the other window). Also, for some reason the "Save for Web" dialog suddenly became super slow - you can actually see it drawing out the buttons and text...

Who knows what other weird shit is going to happen when/if I upgrade to W10?

I paid a shitload of money for CS2 - nearly 10 times what Windows XP cost - but I guess after around 10 years it's time let it go, and get something newer. :)

I also use PS CS2 and can confirm that it works perfectly fine under Win10 :thumbsup

Most Mac users used to be PC users until we switched.

And yet we are the "sheeple".

I switched PC to Mac in 2013. I've never looked back and wish I had done it sooner. Switched from Android to iPhone earlier this year. Another wise choice. I enjoy the tight integration. I'm sure soon enough we will be able to run our mobile apps on any Mac product. Seamless integration.

I used to be an Apple basher. Only now do I realize how ridiculous I was being. They're superior.

heads-up, windows 10 is something new. the entire thread is about daring to try windows 10, something new. certainly you can see that, you just choose to ignore it so you can thump your chest about apple.

Yup. Mac users do not know any Windows users. We don't hear people bitch. My biz partner didn't lose three days of productivity when PDFs decided to stop opening. Then, this thread. Win10 is amazing! Just like Win8 was. We never hear people say XP was the last thing Microsoft got right. Nope.

you're not good at reading, or anything for that matter.

heads-up, your stupid fucking post has absolutely nothing to do with **********'s incorrect post trying to insult people for "not trying something new" when clearly they are.

it would be a lot different if you dumbfuck apple evangelists didn't cling to the need to jam your bullshit cocksucker views down everyone else's throats.

why you give a fuck about the fucking OS some gfyer uses to the point you've got to insult them and thump your fucking chest about your choice in OS defies adult logic.

I'll be waiting to upgrade until most of these kinks are worked out.

EonBlue 08-05-2015 09:57 AM

Upgraded two machines to Win 10 last week. Except for a minor Nvidia driver issue the upgrades went smoothly. So far it seems very fast and stable, everything works and I like the new interface including the start menu. I didn't like Win8 and skipped over it but I think they got it right this time.

So far I have no complaints. My very first iMac 27 from 2009 is running the latest OS/X and its really fast. I swapped the HD for an SSD so of course that counts for a lot of the speed, but otherwise its great.

People should always try something new. I used to use PC's and Windows until I switched to Mac and found they work much better. You are the one who refuses to try something new my friend.

I started upgrading some of the lesser used computers here. My only complaint is that the upgrades took forever.

It's pretty clear to see what Microsoft is doing here. They are less concerned about selling us the operating system and much more concerned about getting their storefronts, browser, and search box on the desktop. Smart move on their part.

Yes, this. I actually like the storefront and the integration between the apps and my Google account and Android phone. The included 15 GB of free storage one OneDrive is nice too.

I can see that this would be a smart move for them too. Shopping for things is nicely integrated into OS X with App store and iTunes, and shopping on Xbox is really handy too, and fortunately without any intrusive ads.

i like win10's virtual desktops. with multiple monitors it gives so much more desktop estate. you could have a desktop for each particular thing or interest. you can do work in one desktop, check news and hit boards in another one, have music, books etc in another one. very fenshuy =)

it doesn't work 100% perfect, for example you can run different instances of browsers in different desktops but not photoshop for instance. clicking on some windows make desktops scroll to one where that app is active.
after some getting used to i got it handled pretty comfortably

some cool hotkeys:
Win key + Tab = select virtual desktop, from here you can create a new one
Win key + Ctrl + D = create a new desktop
Win key + Ctrl + left or right arrow = scroll through desktops. Love this one

why you so desperately need to change other people's behaviors, attitudes, lifestyles and electronics choices defies logic.

heads-up, my shit works perfect. you think i need to ditch my entire computer network and buy all new computers and software because why? simply because you are an apple evangelist that is why. why you can't just realize reality and not concern yourself with so desperately needing to change others is beyond me. live and let live **********. you have an apple, 10s of millions of people do, i couldn't give a fuck. just like 10s of millions of people have a fucking cat instead of a dog. again, who wastes their time giving a fuck about the fucking OS other people use. and to the point that you need to push you views on OS to them and try to coerce them into ditching their entire shit.

really **********, live and let live man. especially about OS.

and btw, you are getting something. glengarry is one of my top movies and it's the inspiration behind much of my GFY schtick.

I had a monitor resolution issue so I just swapped it out and when I hooked it to a Debian 8 install I had the same issue so the monitor is to blame. The Radeon Catalyst drivers and api for the video card are bad on W-10 and no longer runs.

I don't do any serious work on Windows computers anyway but our customers use them so I have to test them. I bought a tablet that is Android 5.1 for the same reason, testing the users commonly used devices.

The first thing it did when I loaded it was to update my Radeon Catalyst drivers etc...

It seems it is a known problem.....

But Dynao ol' chap, I don't. Clickhappy shared his negative experience with Windows. My first comment in this thread addressed Clickhappy and others complaints, and commented on how Apple users are called "Sheeple" when it seems to me that it's the PC users that are the sheeple. It was JMK that said "get a mac".

No I didn't say that. Since your "shit" works perfectly, why change? Never once did I ever tell you to change what you have if it works for you. Once again you are putting words into my mouth (or misquoting me, you sneaky misquoter you). You get an idea into your head, and then you try imagine stuff to fill in the blanks to that idea until it becomes some kind of "reality" to you. Weird.

Are you going full retard? This is a thread about a poor guy's issue with Windows. Someone ELSE told him to buy a Mac. I shared my experience with Mac. That's all, cupcake, that's all.

So I guess you know a ton of people at Apple as well since switching to Mac.
