here are some more cold hard facts, not bullshit reality show drama Made in the U.S.A. is hot again, and the number of manufacturing jobs that are returning to the U.S. ? or coming to the U.S. for the first time ? from overseas has hit a record level. Sixty thousand manufacturing jobs were added in the U.S. in 2014, versus 12,000 in 2003, either through so-called reshoring, in which American companies bring jobs back to the U.S., or foreign direct investment, in which foreign companies move production to the U.S., according to a study from the Reshoring Initiative. In contrast, as many as 50,000 jobs were ?offshored? last year, a decline from about 150,000 in 2003. Outsourcing, has led to a huge loss of money swirling around the West's economies. The loss of jobs has hit the working class, the middle class will be next. Those entrepreneurs running businesses that require clients in the West who will buy their goods. The bosses of Nike, don't care and their buying isn't going to make a huge amount of difference? Is it too late? Of course not. Elect Governments that don't feed off the corporate nipple. That will impose import taxes that will fund jobs in the West. So those entrepreneurs running businesses that require clients in the West who will buy their goods. Still have customers to sell to. All it takes is for people to change first, then the politicians will be forced to change. And if you think "Those jobs are gone". Then ask why, the only answer is we're happy to buy cheap stuff we don't need. |
In fact, among the world’s top 10 export economies, the U.S. last year ranked No. 2 — behind only China — for cost competitiveness, according to the Boston Consulting Group, with real estate and natural gas and other energy prices tending to apply downward cost pressure in the U.S.

A country taking so few goods from the US, and selling a lot. So the trade balance is one way. Isn't going to have a plausible threat of blocking imports. Still the problem remains.
June exports were $188.6 billion June imports were $232.4 billion Gap $43.8 billion 20% Gap approx. OK let's say Nike, Apple and more aren't going to suddenly open new factories in the US. The US has a lot of goods it can sell it's suppliers. Petroleum, financial services, steel, motor vehicles, aerospace, telecommunication, chemicals, arms industry, electronics, food processing, consumer goods, lumber, mining. Just a suggestion. It only needs to say, "We will buy the same amount of goods you buy from us. The rest we will tax 25% at the portside." Then watch exports soar. The alternative is carrying on as we are and watching our sales, to our customers drop. In the beginning I believed the Common Market was about giving European companies the edge to sell to one another. It opened it's doors to the Third world. However the US is strong arming the EU to allow American Healthcare companies to compete in the EU market. Why? The EU needs to keep the US as a customer. Does Trump have the will, can he force the Senate and Congress to go with him? |
exports are slightly down over the 3 month short term because of the strong dollar and weak global growth. heads-up.

Adding 60,000 new jobs in US manufacturing is great but how many of the are the jobs gone of 2 million +?
I guess you just don't get it -- the low skilled worker is permanently displaced. Jobs assembling global outsourced parts for durable goods domestically can work. The auto or large home appliance manufactures in the USA are a prime example. Cheap electronic consumer goods are now relegated to low wage market because they now produce acceptable quality products. I have 8 computers in my office 2 have Antec cases made in the USA another an NZXT gaming case all made in the USA the rest of their parts, to the best of my knowledge -- I custom built them myself) are of foreign origin -- I think (maybe) that the AMD CPUs may not be of foreign origin sold by a USA technology innovator. People that make less than $30K don't spend (much) money on porn -- why do you think tube websites took over? Get a fucking clue. You sound like the Trumpster ... Time waits for no man ... |

And that should effect net imports -- has it? *NVM The U.S. Census Bureau and the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis, through the Department of Commerce, announced today that the goods and services deficit was $43.8 billion in June, up $2.9 billion from $40.9 billion in May, revised. June exports were $188.6 billion, $0.1 billion less than May exports. June imports were $232.4 billion, $2.8 billion more than May imports. imports are up over the same period. what's your point about it effecting net imports when the issue being discussed was jobs that left are not returning and according to the conjecture you posted, they will never return, when in very much fact, they are. |
I am just pointing out the idiocy of the "bring back the jobs" bullshit political spin.
It is not productive only decisive. I really which that there was a real plan for re-education and new occupational training. As much as I disagree with Bernie Sanders populist agenda he is supporting free (taxpayer paid) higher education. But that is twisted in a way -- we don't need marginally qualified workers with general education BS degrees ... We need graduates of occupational schools and AA grads with technological scientific and engineering schooling. And @Paul, those are you future porn buyers; not the guy who had a factory job screwing in the left fender on the assembly line that was replaced by a more efficient robotic worker that does not get paid every week, costing benefits and workman's comp insurance premiums or reserves. |

Right now the oil price collapse is affecting a lot more than just the price of fuel. That distorts the picture. As much as I despise Hillary, she has come out for subsidized solar power but the subsidy would be available for foreign made solar panels with USA (vocationally trained) workers installing them. That is basic technological training like I have said above -- the twist is this will support the Chinese economy and forebear the great fear (mostly drama spin) of the cashing in of the USA debt to the Bank of China (and other Chinese debt holders). This isn't kumbaya or behappy thinking -- this is the new globalist strategy in today's world economy that is needed. |
i didn't post anything about long term anything. i posted the statistics that show jobs and manufacturing are in fact returning to the USA and that's the trend. there is nothing to suggest the trend won't continue.

Bottom line is...people are tired of bullshit lying politicians.
Whether any of us on a porn message board think we are economists or not is irrelevant. What the 2 ruling parties have done together is run up 18 trillion in debt, keep us at perpetual war, and helped usher our economy into a deep hole. Yes, there are things govt. CAN do to bring those jobs in Barry. I've seen it happen with my own two eyes in the upstate of S.C. when that economy was in shambles because the textile industry left in mass to China. The state govt. created incentives for BMW that made it far more appealing to them to build their car plant in S.C. than in Mexico or anywhere else. And the salaries were great and far above anything else in that area. Reinvigorated the local economy for a third of the entire state. But that isn't what Trump REALLY represents. You keep trying to say this is all "old angry white men". Because young white men are so happy with the way things are? Because women are? Because minorities are? The only reason Trump is getting big poll numbers is because of the old fashioned ways of "business as usual" of lifetime/career politicians. They promise the world, and then get in office and it's business as usual: empowering themselves and enriching their cronies at the expense of the people. Everything else you are trying to read into it is fruitless. This country can't continue on it's current course. And that course will be the same one if something doesn't change. As I said before, my hope is that Trump and Sanders will scare the shit out of their respective party's and cause them to do something positive in response (out of fear of losing their power). |
trump's still in the lead, big time.

Let's discuss the trend 18 months and 36 months down the road from today -- OK? IMO, that time period would be medium term trending. Long term tending is more than 5 years.
I don't get too moved by monthly or quarterly reports and look to annual trends with some skepticism. |

The US Government is the most corrupt government in the world and since JFK there has not been a real president. The presidents have been nothing but puppets for the world banks, oil companies and energy companies.
Donald Trump is the only chance the USA has to make a change but will never happen because all the elections are rigged. |
