I saw mass stealing and pirate sites starting to get huge traffic numbers in 2007. I mean REALLY taking off.

The only reason I noticed it was because all our millions of uniques per day on our TGP's were suddenly (and I mean suddenly) GONE.
And then I watched all my money I was making as an affiliate start to drop quickly.

So I had to figure out what was happening.

But for you to think that the pirate tube sites were out buying content in 2007/2008/2009 etc. is total bullshit.

They were dead ass stealing everything and making money with traffic.

But again...I will say to you...what IF someone bought ALL of your content. One purchase. And then it ALL got "user uploaded" to file locker where all the people who now buy your content wouldn't have to buy it anymore. They could just steal it and then "user upload" it to their own pirate sites?

You would be singing an entirely different tune then. And those wonderful tube sites that are buying your stuff now would no longer need to do so. They could just have it "user uploaded" and then you would know how it feels to get fucked like the rest of us have.

Robbie - with all due respect - Youporn for example licensed my library in 2010 - which is way after the first studios had already had licensed their content to them. If you want to say that is bullshit, i'll email you the invoice.

Paysites with exclusive content that nowadays happily provide 10-15 min videos for free to tubes which makes it obsolete for them to license content - which they had to do when the got only 1 or 3 min promo clips

and then there are those that use DMCA to its full extent and trust me, that doesn't make me happy either - i have lost quite a few clients over the years that gave up on this daily struggle.

YouPorn had already decided to try something different...but make no mistake, they got started by stealing. And content owners had no choice in it.

By the time they started buying content it was already all over but the crying. And they bought that content off the backs of the producers content that they had stolen previously and ruined their lives by doing so.

No need for me to try and convince you of that. All you have to do is observe the wasteland of what is left to see with your own eyes.

And I'm glad that you are able to still make some money selling to tube sites. Don't blame you one bit.
But unless something really drastic happens, this industry is truly one of diminishing returns. Some will feel it sooner than others for sure. But when the very foundation of the industry is taken away...the whole thing is on a bad course.

Sorry for even bringing this up. It's kind of redundant. It is what it is.
