And no...there aren't any of those gonna happen any time soon that would actually be viable to transport large trailers thousands of miles. That was my point. So diesel powered 18 wheelers are still gonna be running at full capacity on the nations highways for the foreseeable future. |

Start shit talking and get shit talking back. You don't see me addressing robbie that way. You don't see me addressing Barry that way. U don't see me treating 98% of gfyers that way. it's pretty comical how many hints i've given ********** that this is a schtick. i even pointed out directly to him that i get inspiration for it from one of my all-time fav movie films glengarry glen ross.
gofuckyourself ahah. and ftr, i know crockett's a schtick too, figured that out before he announced that he's a gfy conservative troll here to rile up the conservatives. me not realizing gfy is fun? fucking please. |
Dynamo. It must really hurt to be as depressed as you obviously are. I hope you get help soon.

there's **********, doing what ********** does best, judging others while looking down his nose doing a internet psych profile based on gfy.
nevertheless, EV is not THE future, battery technology has not had the breakthrough elon musk is waiting for, cordless 18v batteries = 20v, and coal is in peak production. another argument won by dyna mo. dyna mo = bazillion crockofprince = 0 :1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh depression gone. |
I'm not judging you Dynamo. I just think that you can't help but lose your shit any time someone disagrees with you, and you seem to stop yourself from having a discussion on any matter. You seem hellbent on destroying the conversation by insulting anyone and everyone with a different viewpoint. If you are like this in real life you must be quite lonely, and if so, that's a shame.
Anyway, say what you want. I won't argue back to you or even offer alternative viewpoints as you will just call me a fucktard or whatever like you usually do. |

Also I never called you a fucking idiot, as I told you before. I said you were acting like one. However you have been acting like a dumb ass and calling people names long before that.. I've tried talking civil with you and you do nothing but act like an idiot, so now I just treat you like one. |

and you cling to that simply so you can then make it personal shaming opportunity about irl. either way, i've tried to reset things with you, i've even offered you an olive branch in the past, and i've been more than civil to you while you make crass personal comments. |

i've already rubbed your fucking nose in every single post you've made in your own fucking thread. :1orglaugh it's like shooting fish in a barrel, it's fun for a while but actually pretty fucking boring. i'll do it again whenever the fuck i feel like it. |
i'll even try again to support my previous comments that i've tried to get along,
if either of you two want to knock it the fuck off with the insults and attacks, i am capable of doing the same- as i've shown both of you in the past. that doesn't mean we're going to agree on shit, it means you and i will agree to disagree. it means that the name calling stops, it means the personal jabs stop. it means the character assassination stops. opportunity offered. a simple yes or no is all that's needed. oh, and i'll never stop stating "fuck" at a porn board named gofuckyourself. let's not pussify things. |

It's like you trying to argue about the battery post I made wasn't a breakthrough because it might be expensive. You are seriously too ignorant to understand the basic concept, that new tech is almost always rare and expensive at first. When nicad batteries were first put on the market, they were expensive and only used on high end or very specific items. Now they are common place. You have to be a fucking fool to not understand this.. Your right wing radio has rotted the remaining brain cells the alcohol didn't already get.. |
Quote:
i've been known to play pretty rough with those two. that's why they're bro'n up right in this thread. |
Quote:
regardless. because you also are twisting my posts. a "breakthrough" in the laboratory in principle, is a minimum of 10 years away from application and closer to 20+. that has nothing to do with expense. it's the time factor to PROVE the chemistry. it's extremely complex testing and time-consuming. the blurb i quoted certainly included the expense but the point of the blurb was the fact that it's at least 10 years away from reality. i didn't think i had to explain that to you, based on your claiming you know what the fuck you're talking about. because anyone that's following battery technology and such, is fully aware of the time constraints in proving a viable SAFE battery for the masses. this is rocket science. |
don't worry, they'll find a way to tax the shit out of everyone as usual. Taxes are something governments are all very creative in, they'll make sure they won't lose a dime once the time has come - in fact, they'll make sure they make even more. Something new is a chance they always grab to let the people pay even more money.

nevertheless, EV is not THE future, battery technology has not had the breakthrough elon musk is waiting for, cordless 18v batteries = 20v, and coal is in peak production. true that 18v maybe the same as the 20v but I just got a new blower that is 58v and destroys my gas blower in terms of wind speed and lasts 40 minutes at full power and will charge fully in only 30 minutes.........how is that not an advancement? I would never use a gas blower or weed eater again. Yes this was at home depot that I bought it as well for a very good price. |

I specifically stated there have been advances. i mean really people. go back and see my post where i am the one that stated in this thread that there have been incremental advances over the years of batteries. it's weird to me people just jump right over the fact. Again, what i've stated is exactly what i've learned from following elon musk, that there hasn't been a BREAKTHROUGH. |
not that any of my detractors are interested, but for the others
Elon Musk Responds To Alleged "Battery Breakthroughs" The “breakthrough” battery discussed in the PhysOrg article is of the aluminum-ion variety. Problem is the article does not list complete specs for the battery. It does state that the “battery was able to withstand more than 7,500 cycles without any loss of capacity” and that the “battery produces about half the voltage of a typical lithium battery,” but specific numbers are not present. So, this battery would fail the Musk “breakthrough” test. Tesla CEO Elon Musk On Breakthrough Battery If you follow the electric vehicle battery market, then you’re well aware of all the “breakthrough” battery technology out there; heck we have a whole category devoted to it to for one to peruse (“battery tech“) if you have a couple days to kill. Truth is, most of these breakthroughs exist only on paper, to which Tesla CEO Elon Musk proclaimed during the Q3 conference call: “My top advice really for anyone who says they’ve got some breakthrough battery technology is please send us a sample cell, okay. Don’t send us PowerPoint, okay, just send us one cell that works with all appropriate caveats, that would be great. That sorts out the nonsense and the claims that aren’t actually true.” That basically sums up our thoughts on battery “breakthroughs” too. Until it’s a working cell, it simply doesn’t exist. your argument is with elon musk, not me. tell him watcha saw down at home depot. |
"And, as Musk points out, what is the energy and power density of the resulting battery pack?
I get very frustrated by all the BBB (big battery breakthrough) announcements we see that then seem to disappear without a trace. I’m frustrated that batteries aren’t advancing as quickly as I like (even though they’re improving in performance/cost ratio quite nicely), and I’m also frustrated with the wretched coverage we see in so many articles. I wish more people, and not just the authors of these wide-eyed articles, understood at least somewhat all the hurdles between, “Holy crap! Look what we just did in the lab!!!” and, “I just bought a new EV with a 500-mile BazookaBattery(TM)”. Trying to engineer a battery pack that meets all the pertinent real world requirements is a staggering task. Working in different environmental conditions, cost, scaling production, size, weight, power and energy delivery, safety, pack lifespan — it makes my head hurt. But as I’ve said here before, I have zero doubt that we’ll see at least one BBB that makes it all the way to the showroom floor. (I consider ultracaps to be merely another form of battery, for the purposes of this discussion.) The financial reward is almost unimaginable, and there are far too many groups chasing that goal for none of them to find it." Elon Musk Responds To Alleged "Battery Breakthroughs" |

And you wonder why I dumb down my posts to you. |
right here in this thread shows the difference between myself and crockett/**********
when Robbie, a respected and respectful person and member of this community took the time to post that he enjoys all three of us posting, i'm the only one with the ability to acknowledge it and to reply to it in kind. crockett takes it as an opportunity to argue more and whine. ********** waxes right past it in his attempts to medically diagnose me as depressive irl simply so he can then insult me for being depressed. btw, **********, it's my understanding that depression is a serious illness, why you need to portray someone as depressed irl just so you can insult them reveals much more about you than me. you prolly make fun of cancer patients too, easy pickings. so you guys want to toy around with making things personal, too bad you are incapable of realizing that by my choice of dumbing down my posts to you, i've let you off the hook. you two are very lucky i don't use my better intellect to completely crawl inside both your heads and take the time to show you directly how to really make something personal. and fyi, you wouldn't have the slightest idea what's happening. |
