The "gold train" is said to be located under this hill

Update for anyone that cares - this shit is all over the news here every day...

The existence of the train has been confirmed by the county where it is. It was located using some kind of underground radar imaging. They said it will be several months before the train is excavated and we find out what is in it, because it is very likely surrounded by mines and booby-trapped, and the train itself may contain harmful chemicals. Other then that, World Jewish Congress claiming the treasure likely belongs to jews. Also possible that Russia may claim any treasure as theirs.

The 10% for the finders is secure either way - if no one can prove that the treasure belongs to them the treasure becomes the property of Poland, but regardless of who's it is they are legally entitled to that 10%. The 10% wouldn't just be on the value of treasure, it's on the value of the whole find which would include the train (which in itself weighs a shit-ton i'm sure, even in scrape metal value)...

I just read an article that said at some point they closed off the tunnel. Seems strange that a tunnel would be closed off without clearing it first.

Were there a lot of tunnels closed in fear of bombs and mines? That's the only reason I can think of for doing that.

Yeah the Germans made a fuckload of tunnels in this area in the mountains. This part of the country used to be Germany, not Poland. As for the tunnel, I would imagine they closed it off with the train inside specifically to hide it.

Anyways, for now all we know is that it's an armored train and it's underground and has been located using some radar imaging shit.

Okay so the Germans themselves probably set a trap and closed it, then they could come back later and get it if things turned around. That makes more sense.

Perhaps Russian claims are based on suspicions the train contains the 'Amber Room' - stolen from St. Catherine Palace near St. Petersburg in 1941. Before Nazis dismantled and looted it, it was valued at £250 million.

It's possible but common sense says the odds were always stacked against it since there was no logic in releasing to the media news of such a precious cargo. Which in turn means there had to have been immense pressure to find that cargo before someone else did.
