This is the part I've never understood about model flakes. There's no rhyme or reason to it, often no gain whatsoever. They simply don't show, and as in this case they sometimes string you along as well, and can cost YOU hundreds or even thousands of dollars while completely disregarding the hundreds or thousands of bucks SHE would have made had she shown

Rarely is it the case that she got a better offer and is off somewhere else making more money than you were paying.

From my past experiences, most common causes are drugs, idiot boyfriend, or she's flush with cash from recent work and thus isn't motivated to go to work today (shortsightedness). Solutions include: threads like this, blacklisting her, telling as many fellow shooters about her as you can. Anyone hiring a known flake gets what they deserve.

I was supposed to shoot her a few years ago but never did and don't remember why. Got her through an agent though, and never dealt with her directly.

Many times I lost money because I booked apartment (never are refundable except if you cancel 48 hours before) and the fucking girls cancel the shoot at last moment or night before because of boyfriend, positive test, die grandmother or something else.

This is something that all those companies who always wants fresh newcomers girls (and of course I'm not god and still I don't know if that girl is reliable or unreliable) don't understand when sometimes shoots be cancelled and I have to recover some money in next shoots booking cheaper locations or saving money with another things.

I'm surprised this is the only time you've had this happen. Girls 18 to 25 years old and in porn are by default poor decision makers and the least reliable people to be working with.

I put a high priority on shooting beautiful locations out of country. That means I am always investing a lot of money in non refundable locations and flights for every model. Out of 6 to 8 models booked on each trip there's usually going to be one of them that flakes out. I just consider that the cost of doing business in this industry. Sure it's a piss off but I'm now at the point where it's expected that one won't show up and it's a pleasant surprise when they all do show up. At least if you book 2 or 3 models simultaneously you have not wasted the location when one flakes out.
