Try to guess or look at the map. Syria is far away from Russia (we have no borders with it). So why would they want to move here if Italy is just near and Germany takes them w/o any papers? You know, they simple can't cross the Russian border w/o visas (Merkel has asked Putin to allow them get in, but... Russia is not Germany and those are not welcomed here)

BTW, did you ever try to get a Russian visa? Please try it and then post your great success story to this thread :) Feel free to start from here: An American’s nightmare with Russian visa | Europe Forum | Fodor's Travel Talk Forums :winkwink:

look at the map? and you guys make fun of the US education system? :1orglaugh

Syria -> Sochi, Russia ~1500km
Syria -> Munich, Germany ~3500km

so it's at least twice as far...

yea, no visas, yet US got 90k+ applicants trying to get in, Russia got tiny fraction of that, even though Russia is pretty much walking distance from Syria...

[QUOTE=CyberSEO;20597610]No. Mostly Asians. You have Mexico near your border. We have Asia (Tajikistan., Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, China, Vietnam etc) + Ukraine + Belorussia + Georgia + Armenia etc...

as I said, Moscow is the #1 city in the world by the total amount of immigrants from all those regions:

wow you are all so dense, germany has one of the most liberal policies when it comes to allowing immigrants in, see what it's doing to them? Look at the UK, I was there 2 months ago and it's so sad what has happened there because of the all the immigrants. I won't even go to paris now. I am so thankful we have two huge oceans separating canada and the US from the rest of the riff raff out there (not saying there aren't wonderful EU people) I mean primarily the immigrants. Really what positive contribution to do these "refugees" provide? Besides sucking all the resources the nation has?

Sorry but please switch on your brain. It's very easy to get from Syria to the EU (e.g. Italy, Greece etc) by sea (the straight way). Once you've get to any EU country, you can freely travel to another one because there are no borders inside the Schengen area. Now show me an easy way to get to Russia w/o crossing any other borders, professor. Let's consider you are in Syria now. How would you move to Russia? *facepalm smile here*

  • We can handle them. In fact, before 1991 most of them were Soviet citizens (yes, we lived in the same country).
  • They are not refugees. They come here to get a job and to support their poor families that live outside of Russia.
  • They are ready to do any dirty low-paid work that locals will never touch even with a long stick.

i highly doubt monsanto is in the indian farmer loan sharking business directly. Sounds more like the stunts banks pulled on the US Farmers in the 20s and 30s

"17,638 Indian farmers committed suicide in 2009 — about one death every 30 minutes"
"Oftentimes, the farmers would commit the act by drinking the very same insecticide that Monsanto supplied them with"

The stats you show do not match the suicide rate. You have it at 2-3K total whilst the official suicide count in india is 130.000/year...the following seems to support my claim:

In 2012, the National Crime Records Bureau of India reported 13,754 farmer suicides.[91] Farmer suicides account for 11.2% of all suicides in India

I monsanto involved directly?? well as somebody who owns commercial green houses and knows a bit about agriculture, I know how much $$$$$$ there is in seeds and pesticides and its in the billions...whether monsanto gives out the loan or some monsanto buddy bank makes little difference...monsanto knows their crops fail, they know the farmers will need insecticide (special mon$$$aanto brand) and its a racket any way you look at it...

monsanto deliberately lies about the yields and resistance of their cotton...monsanto may not be the only player in the racketeering but they are guilty as hell no matter how you look at it...

I'm done arguing with this idiot, please by all means stay in russia we don't want your kind here, I can't believe I'm arguing with a guy who thinks russia; a country who couldn't save their own sailors 90 ft below the water is the greatest thing since sliced bread. Oh wait they don't have that either :)

Colleges are for imbeciles. I have an university education just like all members of my family. The high education is free in Russia. Right not my son is studying in one of the best universities (the one which is responsible for Russian nuclear program). We don't pay a single ruble for him. I tell you more, our government pays him for being a student. I know it's something which doesn't fit into the American's head but it's true.

You have never been to Russia. I've seen your posts and can surely admit, you have no single idea what Russia is. Maybe you know it from some Disney cartoon or clod-war comics... "Bread lines in Russia"? You are not just an idiot. You are an epic moron:

You can tell me nothing because you know nothing about Russia and China. I won't explain you why China is not ahead and why Chinese people coming to Russia in search of a better job just because you won't understand it. Yep, blame your poor education.

You may have a large immigrant population but that's because they can't afford to leave or are not allowed to leave. In the USA we have the best and brightest waiting to get here because they have the opportunity to do anything they would like to use their mind and go to the best universities in the world. You sir are an idiot. I picture you riding a bear without a shirt like your best friend :) Russia is nothing more than a nation that failed in their attempt at communism then along came the oil and that made them rich again. Well guess what, we don't need your oil anymore and you can't even afford to build ONE, yes ONE aircraft carrier. The only thing you managed to do was shoot down an innocent airliner, you should be ashamed of who you are.

That's just a nonsense do you understand it? Why the hell Russia should build an aircraft carrier??? Why not a steam puffer? The WWII has ended in 1945. There is no place for aircraft carriers in WWIII. Let's do a simple math. How mach the US taxpayers pay to support a single aircraft carrier battle group? Per year? Now go calculate a price of simple cruise missile with a tactical nuke warhead which is enough to sink a whole US battle group within a few minutes? In fact we had 2 aircraft carriers (educate yourself). One of those was sold to India because there are no perspectives to use those in WWIII. Aircraft carriers are dinosaurs from the first part of 20's century.

If you want to speak of technology when ask yourself why the United States still use Russian rockets to get to the outer space? Why 2 of 6 shuttles (33 fuckin' percents!!!) have blown up and killed all the astronauts who was on the board? High tech? Good education? Professional engineers? Aha...

sorry, Madya Pradesh is a state in India, so those are farmer suicide numbers for that specific state over that time period.. and that would show that farmer suicides have decreased after the peak in 2004

however, with the data we're both looking at, we both can know that there simply isn't enough data to really figure out what is going on, as the situation is still complex and evolving. (monsanto involvment, government support etc)

india hasn't been.. the best.. in dealing with the rights of its poor and farmers. the suicide rate is definitely a concern, however it seems with the national drives for attention to this matter has finally achieve some legislation that helped the situation.
