Those don't fill any applications to cross the border. With most of these countries (except China and Vietnam) we have a visa-free regime. Most of these low-paid workers are illegals (just like Mexicans in the States).

Try to guess or look at the map. Syria is far away from Russia (we have no borders with it). So why would they want to move here if Italy is just near and Germany takes them w/o any papers? You know, they simple can't cross the Russian border w/o visas (Merkel has asked Putin to allow them get in, but... Russia is not Germany and those are not welcomed here)

Once you've get to any EU country, you can freely travel to another one because there are no borders inside the Schengen area. The stats you show do not match the suicide rate. You have it at 2-3K total whilst the official suicide count in india is 130.000/year...the following seems to support my claim:

Right not my son is studying in one of the best universities (the one which is responsible for Russian nuclear program). We don't pay a single ruble for him. sorry, Madya Pradesh is a state in India, so those are farmer suicide numbers for that specific state over that time period.. and that would show that farmer suicides have decreased after the peak in 2004

however, with the data we're both looking at, we both can know that there simply isn't enough data to really figure out what is going on, as the situation is still complex and evolving. (monsanto involvment, government support etc)

india hasn't been.. the best.. in dealing with the rights of its poor and farmers. the suicide rate is definitely a concern, however it seems with the national drives for attention to this matter has finally achieve some legislation that helped the situation.
