When it comes to American sports, the NFL seems to have it going on.

I totally agree with this! Somehow playing for 30 seconds then waiting for 30 seconds repeatedly isn't so fun for me to watch.

Don't get me wrong, I don't hate football. It just feels a little slow. I did catch the Michigan State v. Michigan game... that last play was fucking miraculous to me. How often does this shit happen?!

that type of situation and result was rare. according to espn michigan state had a 0.2% chance of winning that game before that play happened.

That was a pee-wee league play at best. How embarrassing to even call that play when playing the Super Bowl champs.

Bellichik was otr pre-game stating he knew it was going to be a gadget game, he had his team ready for that sort of chicanery. i happen to like the coach's call, i think it could have worked, it was poorly executed which means it was prolly also poorly coached in practice. but i can understand the strategerizing, it's going to take trickery like that for the Colts to beat the Patriots.

don't try and troll this thread because the name of the game doesn't perfectly explain the game to you.

I watched that whole game and turned it off when less than a minute left. Caught the highlight while watching another game. Was fucking unbelievable is what it was.

I hope they can play the full 60 minute this week. We almost gave that game away on Sunday in the 2nd half.

If you like sitting by yourself at the bar cheering alone at a single TV then Hockey is the way to go.

I would rather watch hockey than football even on tv but think it would benefit by better coverage - which I think is part of what made football better over the years as a TV sport.

Once producers really figure out how to cover the action, admittedly harder with such a non stop action game, but in a way that makes sense to viewers that don't necessarily instinctively know the game like true fans, then hockey will become a much more popular sport imo. Those overhead cams will help significantly, just like it did for football coverage. :2 cents:

I don't watch hockey in fact I don't much care for it, but it's the best sport I have watched live in terms of action.

If those who diidn't make it to the NFL ended up playing rugby, you'd be really good at it.

But rugby has too many stupid rules, so NFL probably works better as a spectator sport.

Rugby 7's is cool to watch but only because it has some similarities to NFL, regular rugby is rough to watch IMO with so much time spend to only gain or lose a single yard. Last game I watched it was 10 minutes of just that.

It's modeled on war. The forwards are the infantry, the backs are the cavalry. So yeah, it can get quite turgid when it's all tied up amongst the forwards.

It's worse in the UK and Ireland than it is in the southern hemisphere (Aus, NZ, SA, Argentina), because we play a forward-oriented game with very little creative flair. Which has been found out in the current world cup.

yeah it was the FR vs NZL game, where FR stood on the 1 for 10 min and didn't do shit. Maybe commonwealth rugby is like soccer, unable to adapt?

I'm entering my second football season in Malaysia. What sucks is the time difference 12/13 hours ahead, meaning Sunday games start at 1am or 4am Monday morning. Works out good for Sunday, Monday & Thursday nights.

But their is an equalizer: NFL GamePass. I watch the condensed versions - about 20-25 minutes of non-stop action. I watch everything on Monday with the scores off. A couple of games I'll watch live - like this weeks Jets-Pats (I've been a Jets fan since Joe Namath). Otherwise, Monday is my NFL day.

I watch the Yankees and Mets the same way. Condensed versions (12 min avg.) of virtually every game. No geo blackouts either!
