I didn't get it again. What did you want to say, meth head? For example, the US citizens are not allowed to travel to Cuba. So if Russia will completely halt flights to Turkey (the government can not forbid people to visit Turkey, but it can cut off the air traffic between our countries), so Turkey will lost a half of its whole touristic flow. What will the Russians do? They will travel to Cyprus and Greece instead. Both are in the same region and both have the same prices as Turkey. FYI: Turkey was very popular here (the 2nd country by the number of Russian tourists after Finland of course) because it was much cheaper than Cyprus and Greece. When the prices have been aligned, there is no difference anymore, so the people have started traveling more to other countries: 5. Russia: $42.8 billion - TheRichest. And another link: Top ten Biggest Spenders on International Tourism | What Country Spends the Most on Tourism | WhichCountry.co

Course the US and Chinese citizens spend more for tourism than Russians, because Russian population is only 140 millions while the USA has over than 2 times more, not even mention the size of Chinese population. So the stats say that an average Russian travels more than the US or Chinese citizen and spends more money. So Turkey is going to lose a lot on the Russian tourists only...

Only in your passing out mind. I have never been warned to not travel and course nobody can forbid it here. We don't live in land of the free, so nobody can forbid us to visit any country on the planet Earth even if it's Cuba or Turkey. You are such an idiot...

P.S. Yet another lesson of English for dummies: "not recommended" is not the same as "forbidden". E.g. it's not recommended to go to sleep if you haven't took a shower.

My question didn't change. It if was only recommended (which actually means nothing) so by whom? By some idiot or maybe almighty Putin said that personally? If some political clowns want to make a PR for their misery persons, they may do any statements, they may recommend or not recommend something (it's Russia and you can do anything you want here), but who cares? We live in a country where "строгость закона компенсируется необязательностью его исполнения" (don't think that Google translate will help, but I'm not gonna to translate it either - just take it "as is") and you are talking about some "recommendations"? Recommendations... in Russia? Did I really read it??? There must be an oatmeal in your head :(

you keep thumping your chest about Turkey sanctions, but you obviously don't get how trade works... so let me illustrate with a story:

Russian family goes to Turkey with their RUB... they arrive in Istanbul and convert RUB to TRY...
(this is now the key part, so pay attention)
now someone in Turkey is holding RUB...they can't do anything with it except go to some Russian business and use that RUB to buy Russian products...

so for every Russian traveler that doesn't go to Turkey, there is some Russian business that will sell less of it's products...

(the story is a bit oversimplified, but that's the gist of how trade works)

what's funny though, when the discussion was about European sanctions you completely understood this concept, but when it comes to Turkey you seem to think that sanctions work one way... :1orglaugh

I do while you don't. You should look at that Russia sells to Turkey and what it buys from it. For example. If Russia will decide to stop buying Turkish knitwear it will compensated it with Chinese production. If they stop air flights to Turkey, the tourists will fly to Greece and Cyprus instead. Our tourists spend their money in sunny Turkey, not theirs spend it here in cold Siberia. A half of all tourists who enter their country are from Russia. Yet another example. Russia is able to provide enough of chicken meat for the internal needs. However, so companies prefer to buy the Turkish meat which is a bit cheaper (BTW it's a serious business for Turkey). What will happen if Russia stop buying it at all? I'll tell you, the internal production will grow and the GDP (a stupid measure so beloved by some people here) will grow too. So, there are no loses at all. Now tell me what exactly Turkey can do to the Russian economics? I'm not talking about mosquito bites. I'm talking about real serious economical impacts.

I don't have time to explain how trade works, you obviously don't get it, watch some youtube videos about it to learn....

you probably don't see it cause you earn in USD, but your economy is collapsing.. GDP fell 4.1% in 3rd quater, inflation is 15%+, interest rates are double digits too, USD/RUB exchange rate is up already to 66+, will likely reach 70+, if not more by the end of the year... but yea, everything is fine... ideal time to ruin relationships with another trade partners... :1orglaugh

The internal product has no relation to foreign currencies. For example, the rate of ruble to dollar has changed. Does it mean that volume of domestic product (the money made inside the country) has changed the same way?

A small lesson for uneducated trailer trash: counting of GDP in dollars is totally incorrect. GDP is an internal (domestic) thing and must be calculated in national currencies only (Russia is not the USA and we do not print dollars like toilet paper). Also the ways of calculation are really funny. For example the UK and Italy add prostitution and drug-trafficking into their GDP (such a clever decision!)

As about the USA, so I can easily show how its being calculated. Jack the redneck got a loan in some US bank (add this money to the US GDP), he bought a home (add this money to the US GDP), he paid taxes (add this money to the US GDP), his son joined the US army (add his salary to the US GDP) and been sent to Afghanistan (add the cost of the US Afghan company, weapon, bases etc to the US GDP). After a few months he was heroically killed there and send back to home in a coffin with stars and stripes (add the price of the coffin, transportation and funeral to the US GDP). A gravedigger was paid for it and paid his taxes as well (add this money to the US GDP). This is how GDP is being calculated. So in fact, all those cosmic and absolutely useless military expenses make your GDP higher and make your people poorer - there are no free medicine and education in the USA and a regular American lives for loans and credits (for example I have never took any credit/load in a whole my life). So forget about free medicine, forget about free education etc - your country can't afford that. Just and enjoy your huge GDP and national debt :)

P.S. As about bankrupts... The US debt is $16.3 trillion, 108% of GDP. You are are totally broke and owe almost to every country on the planet. In fact, the USA now belongs to China, Japan, Switzerland, Russia and other creditors: Top 10 Foreign Holders Of US Debt: China, Japan Still In The Lead

Listen to me clown, of course no single Turkish plane will be shot down while it does not fly over Syria (because now their pilots are afraid of S-400 systems). Putin is not a smartest person but even he will not attack a Turkish plane in the current situation. So far he plays a victim in the eyes of the normal World (the Russian plane was attacked by Turkish terrorist supporters in Syria). If Russia will attack a Turkish plane in the Turkish sky, the picture will be inverted and Russia will immediately turn into an aggressor. I'm not that stupid to accept your bet even for a cent while Turkish aviation has denied to fly over Syria anymore.

P.S. A huge part of Turkey is now covered by Russian anti-aircraft system so it's still possible that a Turkish plane will be accidentally shot down, but if this happens, it will be a big mistake for Russia...

one major problem with shooting down Turkish planes over Syria or not, is that terrorist groups operating there have no planes... this is pretty much same logic as the nonsense you guys came up with that Ukrainian army was trying to shoot down aircraft that Russian rebels in east Ukraine don't have..:1orglaugh

so if Turkish aircraft gets shot down, even if over Syria, how will you guys explain it? it will be obvious you shot down a NATO plane on purpose and shit will likely hit the fan..

Hmm.. nobody gonna explain anything course it's a war, but let's make a model of this situation for dummies. Let's imagine what some separatists in Canada want to overthrow the government. The official Canada was unable to deal with those guys by itself and asked the United States for a help in a war against the radicals. China was not invited, but it has decided to send its warplanes into Canada as well (just for a case) and one of those military jets has approached the US base or the US plane too close (perhaps the maneuver was really dangerous for the US military forces). Thus it was shot down by the US missile. How will the USA explain it to the rest of the world and will they do so? Man, I was trying my best to show it to you in the most simple way. Hope you do understand what I'm talking about and you can easily replace Canada, the United States and China with some other countries.

your analogy only slightly resembles what is actually happening...

the official story is that Russia joined in to help fight the terrorist groups and pretends it's on the same side as the west... (everyone knows that's not the case, but situation is a bit ambiguous, so tension is limited and both sides are still reasonably friendly)

but once NATO plane goes down, it will become 100% clear that the story "we are here to help fight terrorists" is 100% bs, tension will rise 10-fold and then who knows how that will play out, likely not well...
