Speaking of Indonesia, there's a nice photo of east java (Cemoro Lawang) on Bing.com right now so I use this excuse to post a different one here. Don't know how long it will last but here it is: http://www.maestrobali.com/en/wp-con...oro-lawang.jpg |

That said, my business is doing really, really well here. Exceeded all expectations and 2016 looks like it's going to be even better. But I have personally received (via social media) three death threats in two years. All mentioned their hatred of Americans. The last one was three weeks ago - the guy wasn't too bright, left the message on Whatsapp with a phone number. We do a lot of business with the US Embassy and I printed a screenshot out for a cyber crimes specialist there. Coming back from Indonesia, the Malaysian Immigration officer gave me the third degree - wasn't going to let me in. This was two days after the Trump-Muslim statement. So it works both ways. They're knuckleheads on both sides of every issue. I don't let it bother me - if someone doesn't like me or doesn't think like me, that's their right. Meanwhile I'll just keep on keeping on. |

And the reason for your denial was Trump' speech? :1orglaugh:1orglaugh |

Although those muslims from Malaysia or Indonesia ar much more easy going than arab/middle east muslims. So if you lived there you probably would have received 6 or 9 threats instead of 3 :) |

Bangkok is really bad in parts, example Ratchada Pisek in peak hour, or Sukhumvit road. But given the population it's not too bad, traffic moves slowly in peak hour in any large city. Melbourne comes to a crawl with traffic snarls during peak hour. Jakarta, Moscow and Manilla can be much worse than Bangkok however I reckon Jakarta is the worst I've experienced, followed closely by Mumbai. |

As I'm not a hot Uzbekestan girl, I usually have no problem re-entering the country. This time it was different. Trump's suggestion of temporarily putting a hold on Muslims entering the U.S. got big play over here. Guess what? Most Muslins didn't like it. So that may or may have not been a factor in the immigration officer's decision to fuck with me for 15 minutes, both of us knowing in the end, I was getting in. And I did. Make no mistake. The biggest douchebag immigration officers I've ever encountered were at JFK in NYC. And that's their behavior to me - as an American citizen. It's usually a breeze at KLIA in Malaysia - you don't even have to fill out any paper forms and they usually great me nicely. Not this time. Maybe it was just a one-off. And no - I don't blame Donald Trump. |
