Fiddy tubes sites are going under. 2006 sales will be back anytime now.
There is money in porn! Everyone will be rich. Joins coming without even trying. Magic joins too

Still funny to see that people use google to find google. (no traffic drop)

Probably people putting just "google" in the address bar. I remember at one time the browsers added .com to the end of a term you entered into the address bar and you just got an error if the site didn't exist. Now, The search engines get the incomplete type-in traffic. Diabolical, I tell you.

Very interesting

you can look at the traffic profile of pretty much any of the major tube and the trend is unmistakable since this summer, but going back to early this year:

Pornhub.com Analytics - See Traffic Ranking & Stats
Youporn.com Analytics - See Traffic Ranking & Stats
Xvideos.com Analytics - See Traffic Ranking & Stats
Xhamster.com Analytics - See Traffic Ranking & Stats
Porntube.com Analytics - See Traffic Ranking & Stats
http://www.similarweb.com/website/porn.com#overview
http://www.similarweb.com/website/redtube.com#overview
http://www.similarweb.com/website/xnxx.com#overview

they are losing anywhere from 20-30% of traffic since this summer. more since jan/feb.

i believe this is all google traffic. it's not that easy to spot unless you run one of the sites which have been trending up, as the impact mostly touches long tail queries.

try looking for keywords like these:
https://www.google.com/search?q=bust...utf-8&oe=utf-8
https://www.google.com/search?q=bust...+creampie+tube
https://www.google.com/search?q=bust...video+hardcore

etc

prior to this summer, those results were dominated by the video pages of big tubes. now they get 20-30% of first page results TOPS.

so who are the winners? it's hard to identify, since the volume seems split between many smaller sites, but they seem to be tube aggregators and mgp type tube sites, like:

http://www.similarweb.com/website/iwank.tv#overview
http://www.similarweb.com/website/esmatube.com#overview

so are we coming full circle? back to mgp and linklist style sites outranking content pages? any thoughts? if you run a tube site, does this analysis confirm the trends you see?

Maybe Google finally got around to penalizing them for all the links they brought when they started:thumbsup

Just as you see declining traffic for tubes, visits for review sites are falling, too:
Rabbitsreviews.com Analytics - See Traffic Ranking & Stats

Traditional internet traffic is sinking. The move will accelerate, dramatically, in 2016.

Many mobile apps have their own browsers built-in. They either block adult or disable links, totally. And many surfers think Facebook App is the Internet and there is nothing else.

The shift from desktop to mobile has been massive in 2015. While we had 24% of mobile users in 2014 numbers switched to 70% in 2015. Expect this number to go to 90% by the end of 2017.

But none of that bodes well for the future I'm afraid. :(

Meanwhile, traffic to non-tube sites is increasing. :)

Well said!

This started 5 years ago. I'm actually shocked it's taken this long. But now everything has completely changed. Mobile is the only way to consume.

I hate surfing net on mobile, can't imagine watching porn that way. What is the point of offering full hd or 4k video if the users use small mobile devices? :Oh crap

who cares what you do when 90% of the population will be doing the opposite?

i guess you can ignore reality and base your business upon the 10% too poor and too old that still use a traditional computer for whatever reason.

Most part of those are brats running FB all day. Useless anyway. Our traffic is actually up.

Agreed! I'm all in on mobile. It's just the way it is.

I also love people saying you can't watch porn on mobile devices. For 5 years I've read people ridiculing folks who jerk off on a phone. Ridicule all you want it's the way it is.

Why? I have stats to base my opinion on, how about you? I won't tell details, but our mobile traffic was below 50% in 2015.

Based on your posts business is good for you. So for that :thumbsup:thumbsup and do what works for you.

My gut tells me if your mobile traffic is below 50% it is because your sites (or content) are not well set up for mobile and you are leaving a lot of potential $$$ on the table.

Mobile is no longer the future it's the present. Anybody without a plan to monetize and make money with mobile is going to experience very slow growth (if any).

Freeloaders? What makes you think people who jerk off to porn on a mobile device are exclusively (or more likely) to be free loaders?

personally I hate it too for most types of surfing, so only use it outside the house, most sites are a pain in the ass to navigate

that said, it's clear that mobile use will keep increasing

:2 cents: paysites need to keep offering more & easier ways to pay when people are on mobile, incredible that in 2016 billing keeps being such an issue :Oh crap

RR Productions 02-12-2016 06:36 PM

What I don't get is how the whole porn biz allowed to grow all those giants like Xvideos or Pornhub, stealing videos to show for free

oh yeah, now the tubes have channels to promote your content and even are not stealing anymore... because they stole enough already and got all traffic from google. Now the same companies that were stolen, provide them with trailers, to get one sale for every 1000.000...

You're assuming that the porn biz had a say in the matter.

The entire web was reshaped in favor of Google and media. Tubes helped to level the land, to usher porn out of the way, and were rewarded with the traffic.

That was one of the topics at InterNext 2016, 3 weeks ago. Some big Tubes even suggested they should get into the content creation biz because there's too little new!

hahahahaha.

because nobody in the beginning was fighting back, DMCA claims were sparse and besides maybe TopBucks nobody was suing

I can remember the talks: "what can we do"

the reason why nobody did anything was because they were still making piles of money, then when the money dried up, they were in no position anymore to start suing etc... so they caved and accepted the tubes to be affiliates
