That sounds like a normal response to me.... unless you're desperate and fear your socialist or criminal candidate is going to lose... then I guess you have to grasp at anything you can.

QUOTATION OF THE DAY - NYTimes.com

Seems Trump knew who David Duke was in 2000, includng his KKK history.

ftr, if you're referring to me as a socialist, which is fine, either way, but the specific reason Sanders is my guy is his promise to reform campaign finance, not because i'm a [democratic] socialist. i don't believe any of his democratic socialist ideas will come to fruition under a Sanders presidency, nor do i believe they are the right answers to any particular issue.

but i do believe most all problems with our government today begin with campaign finance. start there to fix it.

http://www.nydailynews.com/news/poli...icle-1.2544763

I hadn't seen that. I was going by this from CNN on August 2105:
White nationalist David Duke praises Trump's candidacy - CNNPolitics.com

I also read this in that link you just showed me:
"While Duke has said he has not "formally endorsed" Trump, the GOP presidential hopeful acknowledged his support Friday night after announcing an endorsement from Chris Christie.

"David Duke endorsed me? OK, alright. I disavow, OK?" Trump said after announcing New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie's endorsement."

Robbie 02-28-2016 11:57 AM

Good Lord...I just went to the link to Dukes Facebook page that was in that New York Daily News piece.

Duke is doing this to get publicity for HIMSELF. Take a look: Dr. David Duke

Start reading the thing. He has figured out that Trump gets him views.

Well the point I was trying to make was not about the people voting for him. Just the fact is he's an admitted socialist and he was displaying he at least did/does have a chance of defeating the establishments queen Hilary.

Normally by now you would see posters, commercials, CNN front page with a split screen of Sanders and Lenin. EASILY attacking him and destroying his campaign.

But the bulk of the attention is clearly centered around Trump. They are pulling at every single straw. They are giving air time to Mexico's ex-president calling him Hitler. Basically doing any possible to dis credit him no matter how far fetched it is. Now they are trying the KKK route, it is just so far out there it is laughable.

But what is not laughable is how a media that tries (and fails) to present itself as unbiased is going after him like I have never seen before. They are scared, the establishment is scare of Trump.

So again the point was the fact you would think they would be going after a self-proclaimed socialist and not a successful businessman.

Robbie 02-28-2016 12:18 PM

Didn't know a lot about David Duke except what I had seen in the media over the years.

Looks like he quit the KKK in his mid 20's (40 years ago) and is not a white supremist but a big time anti-Zionist.

This guy is convinced that Jews are evil. lol

That would be why he both likes Trump and DOESN'T like Trump.

He likes Trump because Trump says he will give the Palestinians a fair shake in negotiations with Israel (as Pres. Obama has said as well).
He doesn't like Trump's position on defending Israel.

It took me about 1 minute to read a bit to find all of this out. I simply looked at his FaceBook page that the New York Daily linked to. That's his official "Fan Page".
Then I looked up his personal FaceBook page and read it.
Then I went to his davidduke.com website and read it.

I had thought the guy was KKK and hated black people, etc.

But if you read it...he says he left the KKK when he was a young man after a couple of years because of "idiots" in it.
I didn't see anything about "white supremacy" anywhere.

But the website and both Facebook pages are full of him accusing Jewish Zionism as being the cause of wars and financial strife.

Anyway, just wanted to say what I saw.
He even complains how the media uses a 40 year old picture of him as a 25 year old dumbass young guy in a KKK robe when he hasn't even been a member of it since then.

I do admit that just his name makes us all think of the KKK and black people being lynched...even though he never did any violence and left the KKK while in his mid 20's.
Sen. Byrd by contrast was in the KKK from the age of 24 until the age of 46 even though he stated that he only quit because of his political aspirations. And he continued to defend the Klan in Congressional hearings and vote against Civil Rights.
He also used the "N" word publicly as late as 1997.

Anway...I think that if Trump is asked to "disavow" someone who was a Klan member for a couple of years in their early life whom Trump has never met...
Then HILLARY should be asked to disavow a life-long racist and several decades long Klan Member whom she says was her "friend and mentor".

Wow!

Robbie 02-28-2016 12:22 PM

Here is your racist. Listen to her change her voice to talk to black people.
Wow...

Quote from Byrd ..... "I shall never fight in the armed forces with a negro by my side ... Rather I should die a thousand times, and see Old Glory trampled in the dirt never to rise again, than to see this beloved land of ours become degraded by race mongrels, a throwback to the blackest specimen from the wilds"

"Clinton had become friends with Byrd during her time in the Senate, and had even lunched with Byrd and Clinton??s mother, who came to admire him while monitoring C-SPAN for her daughter??s floor appearances.

"This morning, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton put out her own statement eulogizing Byrd as a ??friend and mentor? as ??a man of unsurpassing eloquence and nobility.?

??It is almost impossible to imagine the United States Senate without Robert Byrd. He was not just its longest serving member, he was its heart and soul. From my first day in the Senate, I sought out his guidance, and he was always generous with his time and his wisdom,? Clinton wrote."

But hey, it's just Hillary.

Since crockett has been exceedingly clear over the years that his mission is to point out hypocrisy,... I'm sure he'll have a well thought out and solid response and most likely an apology.

Perhaps the height of Byrd's elective career was when he was unanimously elected Exalted Cyclops of his local KKK chapter. He would also serve as a Kleagle.

Later in his career, "Sheets" (as Senator Kennedy would call him) would be elected to Congress and then the Senate.

Senator Byrd filibustered against the Civil Rights Act of 1964 for 14 hours.

Ok...you guys keep bringing up Robert Byrd...who is a part of the old Democratic party. Currently, the Republican party is the one who the racist people call home.

bringing up shit from the 50's and 60's has nothing to do with what's going on now.

Hillary was Secretary of State when she made her praising comments regarding the former head of West Virginia's KKK. That was recent. That's the point.

Why does she get a free ride on the same subject?

Considering we never see a mention of her current criminal behavior and the near weekly discoveries of the FBI investigation re: emails, destruction of government property, destruction of classified docs, unlawful handling of classified docs etc etc etc etc. and all the many lies she's told with that alone, I don't see why they should start being intellectually honest in their positions on fairness and honesty now :)

TheSquealer 02-28-2016 02:22 PM

And by the way, it never ceases to amuse me that someone "your argument makes no sense" gets turned into "you love and support XYZ". I am having a hard time thinking of anyone saying they support Trump.

Do you remember all the flack Dubya got because of his grandfather? LOL.

They should change Robert Byrd's name. King of Pork Barrel. Him and Sen. Stevens "Mr. Road to Nowhere" slapped high-fives at the pearly gates.

Those incidences cannot be brought up because most, if not all, of her supporters claimed that there was absolutely no way she could have possibly done anything wrong.

Because that's how intolerant the people in this thread who THINK they are "liberal" truly are.

They are total fascists in almost every way.

And GOD help you if you show them facts that don't go with their running narrative.

The whole Trump thing is insane. Up until he decided to run for President...he was always thought of as a liberal. Always.

But once he put an (R) in front of his name on the ballot he has suddenly become a "right wing nut" and compared to Hitler by the fake liberals.

And if you argue the point with them...then you automatically are voting Trump. No matter what you say.

Personally...if I wanted to vote for Trump I would say so. Why not? Nothing to be ashamed of at all. The guy WILL turn this economy around. I have no doubt about that. So I wouldn't have a problem voting for him and saying so. But I'm not. I'm voting for Gary Johnson.

But "liberals" like crockett think that if you call them on their bullshit that they post here...you are automatically a "right wing nutjob".

And by the way...if you ARE a "right wing nutjob", Trump isn't the guy you would be defending OR voting for. You would vote Rubio, Cruz, or Carson.

But these **********s and crockett types just can't see past their "Team Sports" mentality.
If a person is a Democrat...they are "Good". No matter how much they have lied to the public while in office and no matter how many laws they broke as a public official.

But if you are a Republican who can actually win the race? OH HELL NO. EVIL!!!!!

oh, i see where you are coming from now. at the same time, the media does it with other ways with Sanders. The socialist label for instance, is an inflammatory one. Sanders actually refers to himself as a Democratic Socialist. we could argue that that is simply nuanced language, but nevertheless, the label carries a negative connotation and the media uses that.

the other way the media manipulates the news in favor of Hillary and against Sanders is in the reporting of delegate votes. they always count super delegates in order to make it look as if Sanders could never catch up, like currently Hillary has 505 delegates to Sanders' 55. completely misleading.

I think Hillary was correct in what she said.

BUT...since she's decided to call Trump a "racist" for saying that illegal Mexican immigrants are rapists (and they are...there were several LIBERAL newspapers who had stories on it until Trump decided to run), she is now caught in her own bullshit politically correct nonsense.

So by her own interpretation: Hillary Clinton is a "YUGE" racist.
