The whole city is still nothing more than a money laundering trashcan right now.
Too bad there are people there because the natural surrounding are amazing. People just fuck everything up. You wanna talk about the "vibe" of the city. All the rich live in guarded buildings. Cars are checked for bombs by security (look under the car with mirrors and check the trunk) when they go into the mall parking. There are more bomb sniffing dogs in the city than pet dogs...just open your eyes and look around. Sure there are drugs and whores there but you can find those everywhere so big fucking deal. Guess you have to pay a desperate puta to get your cock sucked...something to be proud of? I don't think so. But for gringos who are used to living under the pseudo freedom in the US it seems like paradise...just wait until reality hits you in the face and if you stay there long enough it will. |

How is that related to what I was saying though? What I was saying is completely different thing (we discussed if locals look positive at him, not if tourists like his tour, 2 different topics, lol) And on that topic I merely said that rappers rapping positively is no indication of how locals view him for the reason that rappers always rap positively about gangsters. |
I'm giving examples man, anything that is famous will have a demand from tourists! No matter if it's cocaine/escobar in Colombia, or concentration camps in Germany, or even Jeffry Dahmers house!
... quit thinking so much!!! |
take it easy Pablo
|
In case nobody noticed Pablo died 23 years ago !
I think he continues to be big for most americans probably more than what we down here give a fuck about ! |

I just finished watching 1st season of Narcos. Holly shit! Makes our local gangsta brassdonkey look like retarded rodeo clown.
|
I visited downtown bars and the other clubs. That was fun :)
But not feeling so save there in the center around 12:00pm. I felt nowhere save cause of all the stories. Lalexpo is this year in Cartagena, that is a beautiful old city. |

We finally agreed on 90,000 Colombian pesos for 3 hours. As soon as she got into my hotel room she went straight to the mini bar and opened a bottle of Ron Medellin local rum. Since it was still early afternoon, I asked if it was too early to be drinking. She said it is never too early for drinking and sex. It was a good session, we used the google translator to communicate and she added all her friends on Facebook to my account who she thought would be interested to meet me. So all in all it was worth it and a fun way to spend the afternoon. |

Ok. I am a tourist and I stay around Parque Lleras. So as a tourist, where do you suggest I stay ? The info I wrote about Pablo Escobar, is not my personal opinion. It was the info from the tour guide, from the tour I went on. The name of the company is called Real City Walking Tours. If you want you can take up your gripe with them for misleading tourists. Yes I wear cargo shorts when I travel because I need a place to carry my condoms, lube and disinfectant soap when visiting whore houses. I not wear flip flops, but I can understand tourists on vacation may want to feel as comfortable as possible and to them flip flops are comfortable. I can see how people who have to go to work can be mad that people on vacation don't need to dress up and go to work every day. Is it good that there is a "gringo influx" ? Or would you rather "gringos" stay away from Medellin ? |

He tricked us with his Hong Kong diary. This may very well be the same. |

From some reports, Peru now produces more cocaine than Colombia, but how is Peru's sex tourism industry ? |

Yeah I guess it would be pretty cool to get some of pictures doing coke in Pablo Escobar's house ! From what I understand up to 1 gram of cocaine was legalized for personal use in 1994. I heard on one of the Pablo Escobar tours you can meet his brother who was the accountant for Pablo. :pimp |

... and why is he so mad I took pictures of the slums when he even says the poor far outweigh the rich. I was just taking pictures of what I thought were normal houses and neighborhoods. I wasn't really trying to "exploit" the image of poor peoples houses. I guess I am part of the gringo influx that he doesn't like. I can understand when people don't like expats moving to a city and making prices go up. But from my travels, I have always known there are lower prices for locals and higher prices for "gringos". I don't mind paying "gringo" prices and I never demand local prices if I don't live there full time. |

I can already see the reality. It doesn't take that long to see. |

I don't think locals totally embraced the "Narco Tourism" industry. Of course it is easy to buy coke in Parque Lleras, but it is not like they set up small coke bars. From what I understand is the Pablo Escobar tours are focused on Hostels and Lower end hotels. I don't think the tours are heavily promoted by the Ministry of Commerce, industry and tourism of Colombia. |

WOW.... there is a Jeffry Dahmer tour. I wonder how much business they get. |
