The new Mad Max has NO DIALOGUE, NO PLOT and NO STORY. IF you remove the cars and the explosions you HAVE NOTHING. IF I were 10 years old, I would've loved the new Mad Max.

Don't ever compare Full Metal Jacket to Mad Max.

proof that the oscars don't mean anything. Circle jerks probably from the one who got the most friends.

Wow, I really really enjoyed that walk through.

I still think the movie was a steaming pile of shit, however that was really interesting and got me thinking about a few things.

There's dialogue in Full Metal Jacket...but it's inconsequential to the narrative of the movie. The quantity of characters talking doesn't make a movie good or bad.

Anyway, I'm not going to try to explain a simple concept to an idiot who thinks he's made a point because he chooses to use giant red and green fonts. It's a fruitless endeavor.

The masterful filmmaking of George Miller can only be appreciated by people who truly love movies. I haven't seen one thoughtful rebuttal from haters. It's usually "it has no plot, there's no dialogue, it's boring, blah blah blah". Like I said earlier...these are exactly the type of criticisms which are leveled by idiots who like garbage movies. There's no way for them to recognize a good movie because they lack the sensibility to comprehend what makes a movie good and generally loved.

If you think this movie is boring then there's nothing out there for you to enjoy.

This is incorrect. The film makers weren't trying to "fix" anything. The movie was intended to be a visually told action movie. if you think it sucked, no biggie, no movie is for everyone and when Hollywood tries to make a movie for everyone we get movies like the Transformers. nevertheless, the entire point of the movie is the action and stunts and special effects. if you didn't like the characters, that's only because you didn't like the characters, other people did and do like the characters, again not every film should be liked by everyone.

congrats to MM:FR for dominating the 2016 Oscars.

I agree with you, they were NOT trying to fix it, they did not know they had a road movie without chracters anybody cared for and a shiity script.Just like Waterworld... The difference now is that since the audience is dumber it is a hit....:2 cents:

Insulting people's intelligence because they enjoyed a movie you didn't smacks of insecurity and snobbery. Making up bullshit about the movie just so you can make that insult reveals more about you than the people you need to insult simply because they were able to enjoy something.

hey, that's cool right. thanks for sharing.

take a few minutes and watch this intro to the Road Warrior by leondard maltin, you can see how MM:FI perfectly flows with Road Warrior. All of the qualities Maltin points out of Road Warrior are integral to MM:FR

how long until Mad Max: Furry Road is out? make your bets

They definitely shouldn't be calling the people who liked it stupid, because the wisdom of crowds is correct on most occasions.

When there's a consensus that something is artistically superior (and Mad Max definitely falls into that category as the best reviewed movie of the year) then the people who hate it are not some lone rebel group of geniuses. It's ok to call them boneheads because that's what they are. They're the kind of people who have a stick up their ass and can't really find a way to get enjoyment out of any entertainment because they're such awesome critics.

Too bad there isn't a category for lack of a plot!

That might be a category the Revenant could win an award in.

I only use large letters with color so the child reading it can understand it better. I'd write it in crayon if I could.

I'll let you get back to the movie you are enjoying, "Fast and Furious # 23"
ooooh that's a good one! Lots of explosions and car chases in it. I wonder how many Oscars that one got?

Does Full metal Jacket have a story or plot? That's regarded as one of the greatest movies ever.

A movie needs to engage, whether its through visuals or story. Mad Max has a narrative and plenty of subtext, you just can't see it because gums aren't flapping.

By the way, subtext doesn't mean subtitles.

Why don't you shut the fuck up already? Your lame arguments about "us" not liking it because there isnt enough talking are as stupid as this movie.

The masses are always right.
Those who don't agree are resentful and sad.
Artistically superior.
Just wow.
You're dumber than I thought.
You take The Oscars too seriously. They haven't been relevant for like the last 15 years.

I finally watched The Revenant the other night. WOW what an amazing movie. I can't believe it was put side by side with that Mad Max garbage.
