But what Trump was talking about in his speech a year ago was that he feels the Mexican Govt. is purposefully turning a blind eye to criminals coming over the border to the U.S.

He basically said that they are getting rid of their undesirables by not having any border security of their own.

It's a valid point. But political opponents of Trump pounced on it immediately as him being "racist". That is just not the case.

Trump needs to specify he is speaking solely of illegal immigration. Or, you have misunderstandings (if there is one), that he believes an entire people are rapists, 'except some good ones'.

Which is why if you were paying attention over the last year you would have seen him say hundreds of times that he was referring to ILLEGAL aliens and that he is proposing to make it EASIER for LEGAL immigration so that MORE Mexican people can enter the US.
