Surgery is now set for Apr. 5th. Reason given was there was an inordinate amount of emergency OR procedures during spring break. See kids? Your hard partying ways have far-reaching repercussions, like... pushing my surgery back a week!

ahh man, that's a pain in the ass! I bet you just want to get it over & done with :(

Anyway, another week to go now, good luck for next week :thumbsup

Thanks, and you`re right. I do want to get it done, for several reasons, not the least of which is that I have to be off my pain meds a full week before surgery. Every week it gets bumped means another 7 days of mega pain and not much sleep.

So forgive me everyone if I`m a bit extra bitchy the next few days. :winkwink:

damn it, that sounds awful! I'm amazed they've asked you to stay off your meds ready for surgery & then bumping you!

Have you told them?

They know. There's no getting around a clogged OR though. I knew that going in. Plus they tell you up front that there's a chance of getting bumped.

True. And I've admittedly been a bit more laid back on the boards in recent years. My former level of bitchy was much.... bitchier... than it is now, even with the extra pain.

There had to be a reason for that. Medical or...otherwise.

My last surgery was roughly 25 years ago (not counting having my four wisdom teeth out 20 years ago). The rule was no solid food for 24 hrs, but by that night I was famished and got out of bed and raided the fridge in back of the nursing station when the nurses were all busy charting. ha ha

The guy in the bed across from me had his tonsils out, he followed me and we ate sandwiches and drank chocolate milks until we were caught. The nurse just laughed and said "don't go ringing the call bell if you start barfing later"

I was fine.

If you chewed too much ice, you could've torn out the lobotomy stitches.

See you all if I get back. When. I meant when.

Here goes nothing...

just remember - when you see a bright light it's only the operating light in the OR - no need to panic

good luck!
