DO NOT shave are still convert as 1:500 or so. Others that have 1:1000,0000 or even 1:10,000 on
SE traffic are shavers. PERIOD.
Only an idiot will push those and waste the priceless SE traffic on them. To prove my words I tell you a little story. As you may know, I'm not in adult business because I know much more profitable ways to make money online.
So on some closed (private) SEO board I had a bet I that it's possible to make money in adult niche even today, doing literally nothing. I was promoting my
CyberSEO plugin there and the board members told me they need a real proof that CyberSEO is able to generate some income on autopilot w/o backinks and other additional efforts. So I've picked one narrow-niched sponsor and made a couple of self-populating tubes on WP + CyberSEO which were pushing that program using its hosted video and image content - no other sources of income like plugrush, cams popunders etc. After that I've started to post monthly earning reports to that board. For example, here is the most recent one (April 2016):

The month is not over yet, but you can see the traffic amount, the money earned and the ratio which is less than 1:600. Since both sites runs by CyberSEO on 100% autopilot, I spend zero time on them. I do not buy/trade backlinks etc. All the traffic there is delivered by search engines and boomarkers.
Yes, that's not a huge money and not something I would call my source of income, because it's not my specialization. It was made for the members of the private SEO board only as a proof that my plugin works well even in adult which is "dead". However the ratio speaks for itself. And I doubt I'd make even a penny with it if I picked one program of those that have 1:1000,000 ratio. So I don't believe that adult does not convert and that's not a traffic-related problem. That's something different and you know what I'm talking about :2 cents:
P.S. Both demo domains are more than 2 year old and they are not banned by Google.
