I have a Samsung S7 Edge from the day it was released and I feel more or less the same that I felt with my first smartphone ever [Iphone 4]: it does the job, quickly, looks beautiful, not too large for my hand, and what I like the most is that it makes SUPERB photos and videos. Slow motion is as good as w iphone I think, and it makes surprisingly good photos in dark / low light environment. The only thing I dislike a bit is that it is like a soap, and it fell from my hand in the first 48 hours and the glass in the back is broken. Bought a good case and it doesn't matter anymore. Will get it fixed later...

Battery is not shocking good but totally OK. Charging is quite fast with the appropriate charger.

I do not regret the money I spent on this neat phone. :2 cents: :pimp

For 99 percent of average population there is no need to overpay and have "the best". People do due to marketing brainwashing.

I was always wondering the same. Hardware is pretty good on all new models, and only thing I personally find important is battery life. Can't understand how people can say that they are satisfied with phone with 2500 or 3000 mah battery.

4000 mah was not enough on previous model I was using, so I've recently ordered this and waiting to arrive maybe even today ( I can see that is it standing on customs). It has 6000 mah battery. They have model with 10 000 mah, but I didn't like hardware. Price is only 150 bucks

Yes, also i guess peer pressure for younger people who care about shit like that.

I find it so funny, sometimes a friend says to me 'look at my new phone'. And i just stare like 'what the fuck do i care about a phone' :1orglaugh it's the 1 thing i really am not interested in whatsoever.

Since when downloading from torrent means stealing? Do you steal when you download Ubuntu for a tablet? I'll tell you a secret. Some applications are banned at the official app stores and available at 3rd-paty sites and torrents only. E.g.: KingRoot - One Click Root Android APK/EXE Free Download | KingRoot Official Site and many others. I've downloaded the new version of Android OS for my Samsung Galaхy S2 from torrents, because it's a custom-made one. Did I steal?

P.S. If you don't want to look like an idiot, don't act like an idiot :2 cents:

what cool legit iphone apps are only available via torrents?

Sid70 07-13-2016 09:24 AM

UI and UX - iphone only, but if you are a tech freak go with Android.

Should I post a facepalm here? Did you read my initial post? I've said that iOS is a piece of shit which is not comparable even with MS-DOS. Android allows to install a 3rd-party software, to exchange with media etc. iOS allows nothing - no freedom at all.

Well, not entirely true, all the media can be easily handled by this app.

You didn't get it. See, I've just made a couple of videos. How can I give them to you if our phones are not jailbroken and there is no Internet access? With Android it's not a problem - you can use an SD card, a USB connector or Bluetooth. How exactly you will do it with the iPhone?

Hm...it's because I have never shared a personal video directly with anyone. Well, at times, i can post facebook or instagram for those who care, but i can hardly find a reason to do so for anything else. It's, first of all, a personal device for a personal use.

Do you understand that 3rd-paty software is not available on torrents (in contrast to Android apps) just because iOS does not allow to install it?

Maybe you didn't learn how to use it? (Not picking on you, just saying). I have my photos, music and media on multiple devices including my iphone. This includes music movies bought from itunes and other sources.

Personally I like iPhone. My phone though is the iPhone 5 and its getting kind of old. I was going to upgrade to the 6 but will wait until the 7 comes out. When it does, I'll be checking out a Samsung phone too because lets face it, Samsung makes amazing products, phones included.

The phone by itself though, is not the only reason to choose however. I want something that I can depend on, that works with all my other stuff (Mac, Car, TV, 3rd party phone software, etc), and that I know is as safe from malware as possible, and that I can get good service from, etc etc.

Right now, Iphone + iOS makes it so freakin' effortless to do everything I want, so it has kept me away from looking at alternatives. I will, though.

peace.

I got the Galaxy S7 Edge

Its fast, new bigger battery, very comfortable ergonomic-wise (all the external buttons, etc), fantastic screen, camera, dual sims (or use the second sim slot for an SD card for a huge storage expansion) easy to use android apps, easy to swap files/data with all other devices (doesn't make you jump through hoops like iphone does with it's itunes shit)

I had tried to get used to iphone but after two weeks it pissed me the fuck off to the point that I almost smashed it against the wall.

Battery is much better now than it was on the S6 and the latest firmware upgrade pushed battery life even further.

Oh and it's water poof. You could drop it in the water, nothing would happen to it.

The titanium silver case > looks and feels way better than the bland, plastic ishit.

Exactly my thoughts but about Android phones, especially those that does NOT have a mech button but sensors only - you do your shit and accidentally touch the button and it fucks you off the app - not cool.

Do a Google search and you'll find your answer.

Some of what you said are different than how you would do it on a PC. When I switched to iPhone (and Mac) years ago I was stuck at first on how to do a few things. In some cases, OS/X is really different from Windowss the way IOS are really different from Android, but after reading up a little you see how you can do what you want.

Anyway it doesn't matter. Both Apple and Samsung have alot going for them. Apple is better "for me", even though the Galaxy series has faster hardware. When I decide to swap my phone for a new one I will definitely be checking out Android. I would just have to know if its a perfect fit for me the way the iphone is.

Cheers!

Not all Anroid phones are cool. I also had HTC M8 and it only had censor buttons, which is indeed bullshit.

Samsung S7 has an awesome mech button like you're talking about (that's the only thing i liked in an iphone, i though faggots from Apple had it patented, but turns out no.).

I am a very hard to please person, but S7 is fucking perfect for me in every regard. I think it's the best Android phone out there now. So if you want to switch to Android, check the samsung S6/S7 series first.

Jailbreaking is not piracy. And yes, all coders have a fetish to run their own apps easily w/o all that useless sex with appstores etc. Just compile your code into APK and run it.

I would say if you need a phone to use, go with an old good Nokia 3310 - it won't fail and its battery works forever. If you need a small computer in your pocket, go with Android. I can't see any place for iPhone here...
