Most likely all the grunts were out of the loop and were ordered to do it, not understanding what was happening. I'm betting they were lied to.

I suggest you google turkey coup Islamic terrorist if you don't want to click my link above. Then google how stupid is president obama...

Post back results please.

plaster 07-16-2016 06:52 PM

And to simplify my above google search recommendation, the coup was trying to overthrow the Islamic State that was being forced on the country by the current president. So their is a group of military that don't want islamism in their country and they are now being systematically executed and president obama is giving 2 thumbs up... great.

You must be joking. When people say "it is a muslim country" 99% of the time they mean that it is absolute majority (like at least 90-95% or whatever) muslim population country and not that it has muslim as official state religion or stuff like that.
70% of US population is Christian, so not too accurate comparison, but yeah, it would not be very much out of the line to say that US is a Christian country.

Go back to a primary school and learn something... Country is either secular or religious... Not in between like " a little bit preganant"...:error

I saw one picture of a parked tank and military shirts with weapons just laying on the ground. Looked to the like the soldiers just wanted to blend into the crowd and ran away. Or, they were arrested and dropped what they were wearing and their weapons?

Anyway, the military got their asses handed to them.

Not making buddies at all , just scared shitless that Putin and Assad ( budies and our firends, because " enemy of my enemy is my friend") will gang up on him and his military will join them and kick his "islamic democratic ass", so you kiss up and divide.. So he thinks but Vladimir and Bashir are not that stupid...:thumbsup

Idiot, secular means that religion is not official part of the state, that state does not follow religious laws.
Religious means religious.

Example: X country, 99% of them are religious people, muslim. Religion is officially part of the country's law. Not secular. Time goes by, country decided to separate religious laws from the sate. Becomes secular. But same 99% of people remained religious. So it was and still is a religious, 99% muslim country. Separating religion from state did not change it. Becoming secular did not make country's people non religious.

When people say "Italy is a Christian country" do you actually think they mean that Italy is not secular and that they have Christian laws as a laws of state? :helpme:error No, they mean that majority of people are Christians.

Turks say it's a hand of the USA (NATO): Turkey Arrests Incirlik Air Base Commander - WSJ

Barry-xlovecam 07-17-2016 12:13 PM

Quote:

Among those arrested was the commander at Incirlik Air Base, which is used by U.S. forces to launch raids against Islamic State militants in Iraq and Syria, a senior Turkish official said, speaking on the condition of anonymity. Gen. Bekir Ercan Van was detained along with 10 other soldiers Sunday. The facility is a major installation of the North American Treaty Organization hosting U.S. forces that control a stockpile of nuclear weapons.
That name sounds like a Turkish name -- that is a NATO base.

And he is wearing a Turkish uniform ... CT time?

This whole thread is about the coup in Turkey ( in case you did not notice) and its army trying to prevent the return to religious zealotry pushed by Erdogan and thus keeping Turkey a secular state. And when you see the Pope trying to govern his papal states and bring inquisition back to the whole country I sure would hope that the Italian army would prevent it. And who cares if a country is 90 % muslim or catholic it is about its laws. That was my point but idiots like you refuse to learn and repeat the same mantra expecting a different outcome.
