The thing is, he looked so un-threatening.
He is sat down chatting. He is not young. And (I may have got it wrong) it was the white guy they thought had a gun (so not sure why they did not shoot thee white guy). But I cannot see in this case how the policeman felt threatened. The shooting the other week I did wonder if when he said I have a licence for a gun then put his hand down, to get his licence, the cop though he meant he was going for his gun. But in this case, he was sat down, hands in the air. I could not see how anyone would have thought there was a danger. Plus if there was a danger, why only shoot him in the leg? Surly they would be trained to shoot to kill. It makes you wonder how much gun training they get. A while ago I remeber seeing an officer at a long way away shoot the horns of a deer as they had got locked fighting and would have died. One shot was amazing. Both deer ran off safe. In this case the cop seemed close up. ---- My only presumption is, the police had a story (I mean what they were told on there radios) that someone was waving a gun about and they (with recent events) had panicked and thought some nut was running around with a gun. So it could be the cop simply thought it was some loony with a gun and shot him for safety reasons. I could imagine he gets a report on his radio that someone has been spotted with a gun and is acting odd or somthing. So it could be a case of what he was told, was the reason he shot the chap. I am in the UK and I know even UK police have almost shot people because they had a report of someone having a gun, when it turned out not to be. |

I didn't judge the cops. I said "What the fuck, cops?". I'm asking how or why would a cop, shoot at a man on the ground, who has both arms in the air, who is asking not to be shot, and who is explaining that he is a care giver for an autistic man? Of course in the heat of the moment, the cops are nervous, scared, edgy, caffeinated, whatever so they may not hear or understand the guy on the ground. Assuming this, they see another guy, sitting up, with something in his hand, who probably appears to be ignoring the cops because he doesn't understand them. And if that is the case, why didn't they shoot the other guy? I don't see how you think these are just basic questions, or why you have to label them as libby questions. |
