Capitalism teaches us that without competition things tend not to improve. The Democrats and Republicans are not going to change unless they have someone out there who can threaten to actually dethrone them. If there is a third party that could someday start taking away seats in Congress they might have to do a better job of listening to the people who vote for them.

you dont seem to realize whats going on inside the GOP. if my hunch is correct, paul ryan will lose his primary in 4 days. should that happen, the media is going to go insane with the anti-establishment mood angle. it portends to an unpredictable fall return for any establishment people, both parties.
right now the GOP is 5 years into a re-alignment. Trump is the result of the tea party.
the left has some tea parties, OWS, BLM, bernie. but they are not getting anywhere in the dem party right now. the party is rotting at the state & congressional levels. ginning up the SJWs once every 4 years is no base for power. the power is in off-year elections & the dems been getting killed.
the democrats need to clean house. that process will begin when trump wins the election.
