.::Divisional Playoffs Week Update & Top 10
 

No one in the pool nailed all four of this week's games correctly. No one. Which is a testament to just how tough these picks were this year. I'd also love to add here that they were the most amazing set of Div. Playoff games ever, but I just can't. The Pats played possibly their worst game all year yet not only still won but still covered. Unreal. Atlanta played somewhat better but their win over Seattle was again into double digits.

Then came Sunday's games.... the Packers v Cowboys was THE GAME of the weekend in my book. Unbelievable back and forth, the comeback from an 18 point deficit by a rookie QB, the final last second FG to win it by the Pack, it was all there in this one. KC and the sunshine Steelers were good too, very close, questionable call near the end, but just didn't have the level of hype and pomp and circumstance that the game in Dallas had.

Two home teams won, two away teams won. No one ran the table.

All of which resulted in the pool having a new leader this week. The top 5 are now spread out across less than 50 points, and don't get too comfortable now because this week there may only be two games but it's 8x the points. Just like the NFL, one wrong move and you could be lunch.

Ten poolers got both games right on Conference Championships Weekend. Nicely done. Both Atlanta and NE scored decisive wins and will now go head to head in the Super Bowl just over a week from now.

Remember, the Super Bowl comes with 10x the points. This game will determine final placement and of course who wins the final prizes.

Looking forward to this

Is it lambs to the slaughter, or does Atlanta actually have a shot at the title?

I stared at the pick menu on this game for 5 mins straight, nearly timed out on me before I made my final pick.

For me it is all about trying to read someone's mind. I'm in 2nd place. If I pick correctly and they pick incorrectly, I win. So, I have to try to figure out who they are picking so I can pick the opposite and then cross my fingers.

Yup, anyone within 20 points of the next guy can overtake at least one spot with this last game.

To complicate things even more, I've been watching NFL network a lot this past week and it seems the consensus is that the Falcons aren't the massive underdogs they'd have been a few years ago. I'm hearing that Vegas is expecting a high scoring game, the over-under is something like 55 pts. Mentally the so-called "safe bet" in most peoples minds would undoubtedly be Brady & the Patriots. But is that bet really so safe???

It is one of those strange games where it could end up being 30-32 and whoever has the ball last wins. I also won't be shocked if it ends 10-13.

The Falcons are a real wildcard here.

Im waiting my chance too. Currently on the 4th position but with some luck i can finish on the 2nd place.

Halfway through the 3rd quarter, I was feeling great about picking the Falcons when the 1st, 3rd, and 4th place people all picked the Pats. . . then the Falcons fell apart and knocked me out of the money.

I guess there is always next year. :)
