so no, Bush administration couldn't do much without committing political suicide... :2 cents:

and in hindsight it all seems obvious, but like you said no one wanted it to stop, everyone (not just banks) was making $$ hand over fist, and so everyone wanted the good times to last a bit longer, no one wanted it to end...

Final Popular Vote Total Almost Done: Clinton Lead Swells to 2.7 million

"The extraordinary vote margin in favor of Clinton leaves Trump as the elected president most thoroughly rejected by American voters since Rutherford B. Hayes in the election of 1876."

Of course that is true. However, this race more than any other in my life, shows how truly broken the system is and how truly disappointed people are in it.

The entire system is broken and people voted against it... that is the one and only issue people should be concerned with fixing right now. Whining about Trumps latest tweet when you know he's a pompous asshole, just as he was last year, the year before, 5 years ago, 15 years ago etc is pretty pointless. Everyone knew he was an asshole... but he won the presidential election.. .that should be what people are looking at as being the problem. In my view, this is what Democrats don't seem to get. Everyone knows he's a dick and he says obnoxious shit... that isn't going to change.

How about we all focus on what matters such as examining how these two thoroughly unfit people rose to the top to begin with???

yeah, i can't even argue with that... That's exactly where the focus should be, no doubt. where the fuck was your voice of reason the past few months when the lunatics took over anyway? heh

So basically what you just said is if they did anything about it it would be political suicide or.... They can take the entire country and the world economy down with them.

No one wanted to it stop. No one. Not the public, not the government, and surely not the banks. No one wanted it to end. But we all knew it was going to end eventually.

Make politicians fear the people.

The voters are going to retaliate against the Republican Party when they fail to Make America Great Again. There will be no Democrat obstructionism in the next 4 years to blame for their failures.

Democrats will be better positioned for a comeback if it is 4.

Towards the end of his term, Trump will publicly blast everyone around him for the failures. He'll be the epicenter of a Ring of Fire and a Republican Congress will be caught up in the "fault" zone.
