The only thing that came out of the hacked emails was that the DNC wanted Clinton over Bernie. My sixteen year old could have told us that without thinking too hard. Clinton had a twenty year relationship with the DNC while Bernie wasn't even a Democrat until just recently. It should be PAINFULLY obvious that the DNC had WANTED Clinton as their nominee, and of course it's PAINFULLY obvious the Clinton Campaign worked that to it's advantage. All of this.... The email scandal, Benghazi, and the hacked DNC emails.... Was nothing more than the Republicans using the US Government, it's resources, it's time, and it's money to conduct a massive smear campaign. Again, I am not a huge fan of Hillary. I could care less. Benghazi was pure bullshit. There was no crime, nothing done wrong, no hint of anything bad at all. This was a terrorist attack no one saw coming, no one could have prevented, and NOTHING we could have done would have changed the outcome of what happened. There was NO REASON to investigate this. Nine fucking times we investigated it. We investigated Benhazi more than 9/11. The email scandal was more of the same bullshit. In very simple terms it is just not against the law for a US official to send classified information via email or a private server. It just isn't. It isn't illegal to transmit classified information via email, phone, fax, smoke signals, or a private courier with a classified information rammed up their ass. Email didn't even exist when these laws were written. This was nothing more than a witch hunt. That's all it was. They knew there would be no charges, but they were hoping to dig up more dirt - which, btw, they didn't. Now we have the hacked emails. Frankly, our election was comprised by a third party. No matter how you look at it, these emails altered and changed the course of the election. The entire Homeland Security department is saying the Russians did it and told us EXACTLY who did it, while the President Elect, who benefited from this hacking, is telling us the people in charge of our intelligence agencies are "wrong". You know, the man who has never used a computer. Clearly he knows best. Where does everyone think this is going to go? You think Trump will become President and the intelligence agencies will say "Oh, we were wrong, Trump showed us the light". LOL. |

Diseminating stolen government info for any reason is illegal, let alone using someone else's user/pass to gain access to their data, stealing it, and using it to try and hurt them. This isn't about the election, it's about espionage, you need to separate the two and be analytical, stop attaching it to the emotion of the election. Espionage (colloquially, spying) is the obtaining of information considered secret or confidential without the permission of the holder of the information. Espionage can be committed by an individual or a spy ring (a cooperating group of spies), in the service of a government or a company, or operating independently. |
That's weird...because CNN and the rest of the media LOVED Julian Assange and WikiLeaks during the Bush administration. Especially their dumps on the Iraq War lies.
I guess it's "different" when it's a Democrat being exposed. |

Let's look at it like this. Trump said outright he was not going to release his tax returns. Fair enough. There is no law that says he has to do this and he was willing to take the risk of catching shit for it. Now, let's say a hacker got into Trump's computer then leaked online 10 years worth of Trump's taxes. In said taxes we find out that Trump isn't worth nearly as much as he says he is and using a series of loopholes and rules/laws he has been able to avoid paying any income tax over the last 10 years. He hasn't broken any laws, but that would look very bad. So, say this information was released a few weeks before the election and it caused Trump to collapse in the polls and lose the election. Are you cool with that? |

What he said is the Russian Govt didn't hand it over to him.. Quit falling for twisted half truths to fit specific agenda. He never said they didn't hack the DNC. He said the Russian govt didn't give him the dump. Do you really think the Russian govt is going to hack the DNC then hand it over to someone from Putin's email address? Seriously use a bit of brain power and critical thinking.. 3.. I agree 100% that the DNC & Hillary fucked Sanders.. Republicans did the same to Trump but doesn't make Trump a good guy, just because he was able to beat them at their game. |

You are painting a normal opinion with a broad brush of far left liberalism that I don't possess. I have always said Assange is a traitor, always, and he is, and you know it. You're just being told this is Democrat vs Republican, which it's not. It's Team America, us, against a telepathic invisible octopus. You're either with us, or against us Robbie. |

Assange & wikileaks is mixed for me. I believe the world needs a wikileaks, but Assange himself has damaged it's credibility. It's pretty clear Assange is playing politics with this Russian hacking leak info for example. He hasn't acted as a information clearing house with no bias but rather is saying things like "Russia didn't give him the info" and trying to make it sound like Russia didn't hack.. Meanwhile he knows damn well the Russian govt would never hand it to him directly. He worded it on purpose to play politics.. Assange needs to remove him self from wikileaks if it's to ever be trusted again, because this isn't the 1st time he's done this. He's using wikileaks to keep his own ass out of jail.. |

If someone hacked and released Trump's taxes right before the election.... I would love it. I mean I would have a hard on for weeks. However, if there was a criminal act involved I would want that person to go to jail. In fact, I believe it is illegal to post a federal tax return anywhere unless it is yours. No matter how we look at this, someone was hacked, information was stolen, and this information was given out with the ONLY intention of altering an election. Period. Not only has a crime been committed, but it's obvious this was intentional to change the course of the election. I hope Trump walks into the Oval Office on day one and says "Shut the fuck up bitches" to the intelligence agencies.... And then watch them dump take down Trump with leaks and hacked emails. |

They LOVED the guy and the things he was doing when he exposed the Bush administrations lies. But NOW that it's a Democrat getting the same treatment? All of a sudden he's a pariah. My apologies if my post came across as attacking you personally. I was really just responding to your post because it struck me at how hypocritical the media can be. |

Remember the New York Times released a hacked state income tax return of Donald Trump right before the election. Matter of fact I believe you were in that thread crowing about how this showed that Trump is a piece of shit for not paying taxes for years after he had a big loss. Remember? Think about it a second...it will come back to you... |

If someone came forward with the past ten years of Trump's taxes I would be thrilled to death. It would be amazing to see what his taxes are like. Can you imagine the drama that would bring up? But anyone who leaked it would still be breaking the law. |

I used to be a hardcore Republican until the Whitewater crap where Bill Clinton got impeached. Whitewater was nothing more than a witch hunt where the Republicans used government offices and resources to attack a sitting president. Again, no charges and no wrong doing in the investigation into Whitewater, but somehow they forced him to answer questions about his marriage under oath. This was a massive miscarriage of justice and an abuse of power. I think what happened here was disgusting. |

The govt was breaking the law spying on Americans. Every person with that information had a duty to release it. Snowden was the only one with the balls and integrity to do so. |

Mark Felt saw our government commit a crime and leaked information to the press. In the process, Mark Felt broke the law, was arrested, went to trial and was found guilty, and was later pardoned. This is understandable and acceptable - The laws he broke were minor compared to the crimes he exposed. Snowden didn't expose any crimes. Yes, he exposed that our government was collecting meta data on phone calls but (correct me if I am wrong) this was never considered illegal, and no one has ever been charged with a crime. On the other hand, Snowden was the worst leak of classified information the United States intelligence agencies has ever had. Basically he told terrorists how we were trying to track them through Europe and the United States. |

His tax return is a VERY private thing. It was stolen and passed to the New York Times (who openly stated they were doing everything they could to defeat Trump). It showed that the had not paid certain income tax for many, many years because of the huge loss he took in one year. Something that is common for anyone who has a big loss. This reply you just made makes you look like you either have no idea of what is happening in the news or you are willfully ignoring it to try and make some kind of "statement". Listen...you have made it very clear. You hate Trump. You think Trump is stupid. You think he is incompetent. You THOUGHT he wouldn't really run. You THOUGHT he would drop out. You THOUGHT he wouldn't win the GOP nomination. And you THOUGHT he wouldn't win the General Election. Maybe you should just walk away from this topic? :) |

But now that it's Hillary's dirty shit that has been exposed...he's suddenly a pariah who can't be trusted. Look...he is the ONLY guy who knows where he got those dumps. Yeah, I would believe him over the lying CIA any day of the week. He did thread the needle somewhat though. When asked flat out if the Russian Govt. gave him the dump he made sure to make it plain that nobody affiliated with the Russian Govt. gave it to him. That doesn't mean that a Russian person didn't do it. Or that they weren't paid by the Russian spy agencies to do it. It also is kinda hypocritical since our own spy agency's do the exact same thing every day of the week. That's why we HAVE spy agency's to...well, to SPY. |

And apparently Pres. Obama's CIA and FBI didn't feel the need to "investigate" like they did over John Podesta's emails being hacked. :( By the way....Julian Assange revealed on the news that Podesta's email account had ZERO security and that a 14 year old child could have hacked it with ease. He revealed that Podesta's password was: "password" Yeah, boy. When you're fucking over Bernie Sanders in the primary...maybe you shouldn't email people about it, and if you do...have a good password at least. :1orglaugh |

Also, I do not believe law enforcement needs a warrant to collect data or even do surveillance. Usually they only need a warrant to search you, your car, your house, read your email / mail, or tap your phones. |
