It's always interesting to compare GFY threads on political topics, with threads about the same subject on other forums and social media platforms.

As a general rule, (successful) GFY'ers are more respectful of institutions, as though the weight of an institution should always give it the final word. They're also less willing to adapt and alter their thinking, which is something I respect if it brings them success. But it does make the political threads here seem endlessly repetitive...

Americans vote for the people with enough money behind them to put on big expensive campaigns. In fact, the money spent is more important than the policies promised and carried out. There are other instances as you know.

Politicians spend too much time looking for money to run and too little time getting America to work better.
