One more thing about clones... There is an old Soviet blockbuster called Pirates of the 20th Century. When it was filmed, the studio had no M16 rifles in their inventory to equip the "bad guys" with, as they wanted (everybody knows that all bad guys prefer the US-made weapon ;)). So they decided... to make up German STG-44 as M16:

Course when you look at the static photo above, you easily see the forgery, but in the movie even I was unable to recognize STG-44 ;) That's because M16 is really closer to STG-44 (I don't want to say it's a clone, I just said it's closer) than AK47, which has a very different construction and no make up will make it looking as M16 even in a half-second scene :2 cents:
P.S. 2 Google Expert: it's a stupid idea to argue with a Russian about AK models and their clones. You will lose the dispute right after your very first word.
